Christine L. Henderson (christinelhenderson) | 92 comments I need to start reading the first pages rather than only the book blurb and look at the cover. I recently found two new authors and liked their book blurbs and the fact they were offering a free book. Well, the first one was so over the top with a protagonist doing a job that I've done part-time for years. It seemed so out of line from my own experience and that person would have been fired in real life that I deleted it.

The second book had grace in the title and I thought it was a redemptive story. It may have been in the end, but the story began with a child being diagnosed with a debilitating disease - which just happens to be something that is currently happening with a daughter of a friend of mind. Too close to that situation, so I deleted it from my kindle.

I'm not reviewing either book as I only read a few pages. However, I wished I had read those initial pages as a "look inside" so the author wouldn't wonder why a review wasn't delivered. Free or paid, I always write a review.

How many books have you deleted after only a few pages read?
