hey wanted to ask if I started a book back in September and finished it in October does that count?

@Vanessa it ends Nov 30"
Thanks!

I guess you have to add the review so the dates in which you read the book can be shown, not the specific review

Firstly CONGRATULATIONS!! you guys were amazing
Now I have decided that we all can together decide the theme of the next challenge.
I think we should do something New Year-related, drop all your ideas here. we can finalize some good 2 or 3 options, then I'll talk to other mods and tell you guys the final theme, bonus everything.
Also, u guys get to know about the challenge earlier than the great so you guys can prepare yr tbr list accordingly

- A backlist books challenge where we only read books published prior to 2022 (so no new releases) so that we can try to clear out our TBRs.
- A series reading challenge where we read books that are part of a series to try and cut out a chunk of our TBRs. Or any book could work but the poster gets bonus points if the book is part of a series. (If it is first in a series then one bonus point, the second book in a series is two bonus points, and so on. There could also be more bonus points if a poster reads ALL the books in a series and posts them during the challenge.)
- A New Year's Resolution challenge with prompts associated with different popular New Year's Resolutions. For example:
*LOSE WEIGHT - Read a book that is 500 pages or more.
*FOCUS ON FITNESS - Read a book with an athlete or someone that exercises or plays a sport.
*SAVE MORE MONEY - Read books that you got for free, borrowed, or that cost under $5/you didn't pay full price for.
*TRY SOMETHING NEW - Read a new-to-you author.
*LEARN A NEW SKILL - Read a book from a genre that you don't normally read.
*TRAVEL MORE - Read a book that takes place somewhere you don't live. (Different cities, countries, or even fantasy worlds!)
*STOP PROCRASTINATING - Read a book that has been on your TBR over a year.
*FOCUS ON SELF-CARE - Read a book with a mental health element or read a book that makes you happy.
*SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS - Read a book recommended by someone you know or read a book that has a family or friendship aspect or component.
*GET ORGANIZED - Read a book that is part of a series.
*REDUCE STRESS - Read a book that is under 200 pages.
*BREAK YOUR TECHNOLOGY ADDICTION - Read a physical book or read a historical book.
*EAT HEALTHIER - Read a book with food on the cover, that has a food or cooking aspect, or where the character eats or has a meal.
*START A DREAM JOURNAL/SLEEP MORE - Read a book that is not set in the real world or read a book that is fantasy, paranormal, or science fiction.
*IMPROVE YOUR CONCENTRATION - Read a nonfiction book or read a classic.
*MEET NEW PEOPLE - Read a book that was recommended on social media or by someone you do not personally know. Or read a book that is a book club pick.
*FIND A SIGNIFICANT OTHER - Read a romance or a book tagged romance.
*LEARN HOW TO DRESS WITH STYLE - Read a cover with a pretty cover.
*LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE - Read a book in another language or read a book that has been translated into another language.
*ADOPT A PET - Read a book with an animal in it. (Yes, even a fantasy creature counts!)
*STOP BEING LATE - Read a 2022 release.
*PRIORITIZE ECO-FRIENDLY CHOICES - Read an ebook or listen to a digital audiobook.
*VOLUNTEER MORE - Read a book with a character that volunteers or is involved in the community. Or read a book that has a title that starts with one of the letters in VOLUNTEER.
*GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR CREATIVE SIDE - Read a book that has an artist in it or has an artistic element to it. (Music, painting, dancing, writing, graphic design, etc.)
*DITCH ONE BAD HABIT - Read a book where a character has a bad habit or read a book with a character that is considered "bad".

*REDUCE YOUR DEBT - Read any backlist book. (Any book published prior to 2022.)
*LISTEN TO MORE MUSIC - Read a book with a musical element. (Someone that plays an instrument, a rockstar romance, someone that works in the music industry, etc.)
*WATCH LESS/MORE TELEVISION/MOVIES - Read a book that has been adapted for film.
*START A GRATITUDE JAR - Reread a favorite book that you are grateful for.
*SPEND MORE TIME OUTSIDE - Read a book that takes place outside, a book where the main character has a job that takes place outside, a book where the main character spends a significant amount of time outside, or read a book that has one of the four main elements in it - fire, water, air, or earth. (For example, a fantasy book with elemental based magic.)
*FACE YOUR FEARS - Read a book that is daunting or intimidating or outside of your comfort zone. (For example, a long book, a classic, a book with a taboo plot, or a genre outside of your comfort zone.)
*WRITE A BOOK - Read a book by a self-published author.
*READ MORE! - Read any book!
Those are the resolutions that I could come up with but I am sure there are more. These prompts could also be changed if the group decides on this kind of challenge. These are just what I could come up with on the fly. =P

wow this is really awesome and I'm going to take this into consideration while making the yearly challenge

Thanks. It was fun to make this list. And I think it would be a fun challenge. There are enough options that anyone can take part in it. =)

Now do we have suggestions for the next monthly challenge?

Now do we have suggestions for the next monthly challenge?"
Sounds good. =)
For the monthly challenge, we could do a backlist book challenge where we read books published prior to 2022 to try and knock them off our TBR? Or a backlist challenge where you get extra points based on the book's releases date? The older the book, the longer it has been on your TBR, the more bonus points you get. For example:
a book published in 2021 - 1 bonus point
a book published in 2020 - 2 bonus points
a book published between 2015 and 2019 - 3 bonus points
a book published between 2010 and 2014 - 4 bonus points
a book published between 2000 and 2009 - 5 bonus points
any book published prior to 2000 (1999 and before) - 10 bonus points
I can't think of anything else at the moment but I will keep thinking. =P

What a terrific list! This makes me want to dive back into this group!

For the monthly..."
I love this idea of a backlist books challenge. I have way too many I have put on my TBR and forgotten about. It would be like opening a present you'd stashed in a closet.

Once that is done we can decide the monthly challenge theme
till then keep thinking,
Also it can be something like book cover with..... or this genre..... or anything, get creative guys
