Emma | 397 comments Hi superlibrarians,

Please combine the following work IDs: 84341770, 4836639 They both contain the original text to Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's Frankenstein. I have tried several times today and yesterday and the request keeps timing out for me...

Frankenstein: The 1818 Text
Frankenstein

Thank you.

If it keeps timing out, you can try combining in smaller groups of editions, maybe even just one edition at a time.

Arenda | 26448 comments The combine went through for me now when I tried.

[Now working on correcting Frankenstein adaptations that don't have the adapter as primary author and are incorrectly combined with regular editions.]

Emma | 397 comments Thank you Arenda!

As far as working on Frankenstein, I was working on books that have an incorrect spelling of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley on the cover. I will stop my efforts so that our paths don't cross!

Thank you Renske, I did not know this. I was hoping Superlibrarians might have a way to update the database through queries rather than on the website like normal librarians. Appreciate your insight!

I'm done for now, so feel free to continue.

Supers are also volunteers, not employees, so they don't have any additional access to the site. What they do have -- and this is why I did not move this thread, as it seemed it could be a factor -- is the ability to make changes that exceed the caps placed on regular librarians. One of those is when trying to combine/separate works with more than a certain number of shelvings. (I don't recall what the number is, but it's fairly large. This work probably has more.)
