I read this book in early 2000s, I believe it would be considered a coming of age, possibly mystery aimed at adults. What I can remember of the plot there was a daughter possibly sisters who have to return to their parents house after their father dies because their mother is implicated in his death. I think it's revealed that the father wanted help in dying. At one point one of the daughters is pregnant and her mother is able to tell without any outward signs. It is also told that their mother goes for a swim off the beach almost daily. Before the case with their father can be solved or before the mother's trial/taken to jail, she commits suicide by swimming to far into the sea. That's pretty much the extent of what I remember, thanks in advance for the help.
