here goes another update:-First of all , I just randomly saw the head chapter and oh my god we got Virginia's pov.🤗 That's what i wanted. so i just start with that:
Virginia and Ephraim
-Virginia's pov is so delicate and different than other's honestly i didn't know until now how much i wanted this. It so refreshing to see with her pov.also , that was such a speech , man. I'm so glad and relived to see she is supporting darrow in her way and sends supply to him.who knows how much she is under pressure of her child's disappearance and still tries to take control of everything?also , dancer's a pain in my back , i mean i get it , but also don't. it's gonna be a way to convince him.🙄
They had only just met. But he loved him because he was my boy, and bit by bit he realized he was his boy, our boy that we made together.

-I don't know about you guys but i found Ephraim's chapter really confusing. Like i didn't understand what was going on there ??😂 or rather i was stupid.
But ultimately seems like sefi wants Ephraim to teach her people how to be more like freelancers, which i don't know why.
Darrow and lysander: aka the death chapters🙃
- More death???? how many time are we getting hit by character's death in this book you guys??it seriously is bloody in this book. it was so sad to see even though darrow knew orion was somehow changed , he had to kill her😭😭why??? she was such a goodie
omg i can't. it was such a painful scene to read.
-not only that , his army and crew are decomposing.darrow goes under another attack , man how many times are we literally getting heart attack for him???it's all because of that scheming piece of Ajax. someone kill him for me.
- seraphina's dead as well???? I'm sorry but that was so rando. so easy and suspicious. Like i don't get it. It's so weird this characters are killed. And i really didn't care for someone like seraphina , but it makes me think it's plot convenience or what?
-Also, it was a matter of freaking time that ajax will drop another bombshell, it was so obvious the way he is unhappy about lysander's arrival. Their not_so_good history almost made me suspicious that why he would act so friendly toward lysander. He is so evil and i WANT HIMS DEAD.
-Finally, lys and darrow saw each other. Ahhh that was so dramatic and i'm happy darrow won.
anyway, I'm so relived that the fights for darrow went good at the end. I can have a moment of peace for now .

it took me so much longer than it should've haha, but now that i've gotten back into this book, hopefully i'll fly through the next set (after i read an ARC due on monday haha). anyway, my replies to Yegi!

yesss i really loved getting Virginia's pov, she's such an amazing character and i missed her!! i'm also really glad she's supporting darrow. and yep, i love that speech, i loved it at the start of the book and i love it even more now!

i mean i can understand why - all of Sefi's warriors are brutally good fighters, but they fight with honour, and none of the other teams do. honour won't win this war, sadly, which is why Cassius didn't thrive in this new society haha.

I KNOW. she deserved better😭 it's no wonder she lost it after that torture. my poor baby orion. and omg it annoys me so much when lysander and such blame darrow for things like this... i just want to shack lys and tell him darrow isn't a bad person, he's just misunderstood!!

nah i don't think it was suspicious or plot convenience (though i can def see why you'd think so) i just think it was Pierce being Pierce!! it's so very Pierce Brown (and George RR Martin hahaha) to kill off a vaguely important character as if it's nothing... just in a surprise hit strike like that... i think it was just something Pierce did to show us that he means business and stuff is getting serious, like when Tongueless (was that his name? i've forgotten haha) died really quickly.

yeah but darrow didn't even know it was lys, and it's killing me! he could've killed him there but he literally just left him lying in the mud because he thought he was a normal soldier😭 a precious chance, gone. also lys is gonna be scarred now, most likely... poor pretty Gold lys haha. who needs a Peerless scar when half your face is burnt off?

- ahh virginia has almost been reunited with pax and i'm so glad!! this memory machine seems crazyyy and kinda scary, but you know what's more scary? angry sevro. the duke of hands better start spilling some details, or sevro and victra are going to start spilling some blood...
- also i'm so sad that victra and virginia are on the outs because victra has gone cray cray about losing electra, they're such a hilarious but badass pair and i want them to become besties again!!
- darrow darrow darrow... you need a friend bro. you need sevro. but in the mean time, rhonna and that other dude (alexander or whatever his name is) are growing on me!! they've both really matured and grown and become strong and useful additions to the team, i'm proud of them.
- and woo screwface, welcome back, i vaguely remember him from the earlier books! i'm glad darrow has as original howler with him, that's about as close as he'll get to sevro right now.
- also daxo is freaking insane but i think i love him haha, he's such a riot and he's so funny! i've got to say, i'm damn glad he's on darrow's side haha, i'd be worried if he wasn't. and i'm glad virginia has a friend, crazy though he may be!
- also oh no, i hope telemanus senior gets back into business soon, they briefly mentioned that he can barely walk, which is sad :((.
- oh and pax really went off when they expected him to fight, i'm so proud of him! kicking ass and taking names!! badass king, i hope he keeps that spirit and remains loyal to his parents.
- meanwhile ephraim... i really don't know what to think of him. i don't trust him and i don't know if i like that he's teaching sefi's warriors to become even better, but we'll see. at least volga should be alright!
- and we haven't heard much from lyria but i'll be interested in seeing what's up with her.
and that's about all i can think of saying right now, can't wait to discuss with y'all and continue!! this is pretty dark and pretty crazy already!

yes exactly , i'm really two minded about him. i can't say anything for sure about him and i'll have to read more.
anyway , it's been a while i haven't read this book and if it's with you guys i really want to finish this book before this year ends. so maybe I'll go faster I'm not sure. but I'll be reading the next set tonight.

oh yeah you're all good sis, i also definitely want to get this finished by the end of the year - maybe even by december! so i'll read the next set tonight as well, and try my best to pick up the pace now that exams are over.
