I finished reading Circe, but not finished thinking about it. The first 2/3s went pretty much the way I expected, I've studied the Greeks enough to be quite familiar with the myths surrounding Circe. The story was told by Circe herself, letting us hear her voice as well as showing us who she was. But then the story went past where the myths ended. Everything she did followed from what happened before, but gave the characters an ending that was more than just the story changing its focus to someone else.

Did you finish? What did you think? Did you find the ending believable? Satisfying? Did it make you interested in reading The Song of Achilles? or perhaps read more of the original texts?

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller The Illiad (Classics Illustrated) by Homer The Odyssey by Homer The Three Theban Plays Antigone, Oedipus the King, Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles The Oresteia Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, The Eumenides by Aeschylus
