Okay - we are full! If we go over the 109% the penalty is more costly than any extra books. So for our fifth round know we need to read 72 books to be full and let's try and max those page points as much as possible!

I just added 2 books I'm reading on the spreadsheet. It appeared someone else was already trying to fill above me, so I left some lines there. Hopefully I didn't type over anyone.

Also, did I interpret it correctly, red can be an item on the cover? I checked red for one book, it has a red fire hydrant on the cover.

Looking at the status spreadsheet - we're definitely in the lead for tricky letters!

Ha! Yes! Tricky letters have been our friend. We have averaged lower page numbers per book and aren’t the best at BOMs. Doesn’t take away from the fun though! And we made a huge leap from last round. Hopefully we can really boost pages per book this next round.

Also The Ivy Chronicles for the coveted Q, Uglies for the U, Lord Demon for the Z& I have a wide variety of E books to choose from...

if a character's name is angua von uberwald does that count for a U for the last name or a V? bc i could read a few more discworld books if it counts towards U

I know that has come up in the past but I don't remember what the ruling was... asked around in the captain's group so we'll see

(fwiw, as someone speaking German and familiar with Dutch (where these names are the most common), it's definitely a last name starting with U)

I would say it can be counted as a U - if there wasn't a space, like deForester, then no - but angua von uberwald is a U

I'm Team U too. Von in a name can be part of a surname but it's role is to indicate of or from the actual surname so without an official ruling from the mods I go with saying the surname.

I went back to Germany on the weekend and have three major deadlines on Monday so I'm Struggling™️

Brief update on the difficult letters:

If everyone finishes their Q books, we're good for those. Same with Z.

We do, however, need three more U books (in addition to the four that are currently on the spreadsheet)! Keep those coming, if you can find any!

It also can't hurt to have about three more E books.

We've currently got 62 books on the spreadsheet, which means we have room for 10 more this round!

i might be able to squeeze in one more U book after i finish the one i'm reading now, depends on how busy it is at work and whether i can just do inventory and listen to a book or if i have to deal with customers lol. i should know by tomorrow though

Hi all,

Quick update - we are at 71 books on the spreadsheet so that means we are full (72 is our cap) except for one U book - that being said I can substitute out any books you are finishing that can replace a current letter that has less pages. For example if you are finishing up an E book that has 350 pages and there is an E book that has 250 I can swap those out as the 350 pages gives us more points.

So if you still have things on the spreadsheet that could work here then great - if not great playing with you all and good job this round - we increased our average book pages by quite a bit!
