Issue while merging two books

I saw there was a duplicate of the Italian edition of the first volume of Tokyo Alien Bros, with +10 shelving which contain all the right info, and a second one with only 5 shelving which only had the picture and the language edition. I separated those two editions from the French and Japanese ones, to merge the two Italian editions together. The duplicate got delete but there seems to have a problem with the Italian editions with +10 shelving, this edition does no longer appear, and instead an error message appears: “Page Unavailable An unexpected error occurred. We will investigate this problem as soon as possible — please check back soon! »

I couldn’t have deleted this edition since I’m not a Super Librarian, and I’ve been merging a lot of duplicates since I’m a librarian, and I never had this issue before. And if we check my Librarian log, it never says that this edition was deleted, so I’m really confused.

Are there other librarians who had a similar issue while merging books?

An error message like that is usually resolved within a day, usually quicker. I would check back later.

Thank you for taking time to answer, lethe! I hope that you are right because even though I had that kind of error message before, I've never seen a book disappear from the author's profile before.

I will check tomorrow then.

This part sounded familiar. It can happen when the combined editions don't all have the same primary author. That happens to be true in your case. If you make sure the first listed name is the same, the glitch on the author page should resolve itself.

I meant the Italian editions that I merged. Those two had the same primary author when I merged them. The Italian edition that have the error message, doesn't appear on the author page while it has the same primary author, that's why I'm confused.

Oh ok, then I fully agree with lethe that the issue should probably resolve itself in time, without further edits.
