All We Can Save (Oct 2021)

I've already read this book and I LOVE it, which is why I picked it for this group to read. It's a compilation of stories, poems, and other writings grouped by theme and it's really good. From their website: "All We Can Save is a bestselling anthology of writings by 60 women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward." I just thought this whole book was really beautifully done and I connected really well to everything the 60 women had to say. If you're reading this month let me know what you think!

Hi there. I'm not very far into this book yet but I'm really loving it so far. I am especially enjoying the the different authors' discussions of the way our mindset as well as our actions need to change. For instance, becoming less worried about individual success and attuned to collective success, as Xiye Bastida discusses. I also really appreciated their 10 steps for becoming climate justice activist, especially the part about not starting from scratch. I also thought Jenine Benyus's discussion of community cooperative theory about how plants are benefit one another was interesting.

The "Being Human" Poem is cool. I look forward to getting further in the book and reading the rest of it.

I totally agree - collective action is the way to big change, and we don't need to start from scratch to do it either. I hope you enjoy the rest of the book as well! It's one of the best books I've read this year!
