so essentially english is my best subject. hopefully it doesn't seem like i am boasting but i'm the first in my year to ever get an A+ and for the first two terms i had both 100%. all thanks to my amazing english teacher. she was the best. AND THEN LOCKDOWN HAPPENED and a higher year's teacher left and my perfect gorgeous amazing english teacher left our class to teach a more important one. so my class (we're the top class btw) are saddled with this TERRIBLE teacher who doesn't know sht. i'm serious some girls in my class know more than this lady. she goes on and on about stories of her life and what's worse is that we use a collaborative doc for all our work, and i can't edit it because there are too many people working on it at once

and so i haven't been paying attention in class, and my grades dropped from straight 20/20 to 19/20 for my poetry unit. i know it's still good but it's going to be worse this time. and we are studying this stupid stupid novel The Sky So Heavy WHICH SUCKS and i am very scared for my yearly, which is worth 30% of my overall grade. and the thing is, i may be the top of the year for now but especially how i'm going, i probably won't be for long. my bsf's grades are 19/20, 20/20, 19/20, so very very close to mine and i am scared she will overtake me. i love her a lot and will be proud of her if she does but i still don't want it to happen. sorry if i sound selfish :(

i suck at maths (i'm talking 87% average while my friends in the top class are getting 90+ average) so i place all my expectations on english because that's what i am good at. and i do music but i'm not GREAT, and i can't do sports so i would love to be top at something just once. but i'm scared i won't get to keep it until the end of term 4 which is the awards ceremony and they present the prize to the subjects and all.
