I didn't quite like this as much as the first, so I am rounding down rather than up--there were a couple of things I thought didn't make sense, but they are fairly minor and since they might not bother others, I won't even put them in a spoiler. Coble is good at writing romantic suspense but, like most authors, I don't find things consistent (that is very rare for me) but she has written many books and don't let this deter you. I still plan on reading the third book in this trilogy.
This book picks up only a few weeks after the first one ends. I suggest reading One Little Lie first, because a number of things will make more sense. That said, the main murder mystery, antagonist(s), etc, are unique to this book.
