Hey Reed,
You have to post a shelf. Then when I post pairs, someone will pick 2 books from the shelf that you posted on this thread.
If you need help, please PM and we can discuss more.
Thanks

Chelle_Rydz (chellerydz) | 625 comments I finished my first pick Hooked on Murder (Crochet Mystery, #1) by Betty Hechtman . It was a cute cozy mystery. I'll continue on with the series.

Hi Chelle, I finished two out of three picks from you
Less by Andrew Sean Greer was so good! It was unexpected and a surprise for me. I enjoyed it a lot and cant believe that I let it sit in my bookshelf for so long. Thanks for picking this for me.

On the other hand, Before the Coffee Gets Cold Tales from the Café (Before the Coffee Gets Cold, #2) by Toshikazu Kawaguchi wasn't as good as the first book in the series. I was a bit disappointed. Still thinking about whether I should continue to the last book in the series.

Diamond Fire (Hidden Legacy, #3.5) by Ilona Andrews

Book - Diamond Fire
Author - Ilona Andrews
Date Read - 10/5/21
Rating - 5 Stars
Review - Nevada and Connor are trying to plan their wedding and of course all hell breaks loose when his side of the family descends on the compounds. Things wind up stolen, food gets poisoned, and someone is trying to kill the bride and groom. Nevada's sister, Catalina is on the case and soon finds out who is behind all the chaos. A very fun Novella that gives us a taste of Catalina and what her magic can do

Ezi suggested I add this here in case anyone is interested in turning their book picks into buddy reads: Buddy Read Discussion Thread if you're looking for a buddy to join you & Buddy Read Sign Ups if you have a partner you want to read with. :)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 1172 comments I finished the last of my picks today, and they were all good reads.

A Small Town by Thomas Perry -- an interesting twist on the
"prison escape" motif. 4 stars.
A Study in Murder (Victorian Book Club Mystery, #1) by Callie Hutton Good series start.
Redemption Games (John Rain, #4) by Barry Eisler If you're in the mood for good old good-guy-bad-guy-game-of-cat-and-mouse fiction, John Rain is always a winner.

Thank you, Denise!

Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane

Book - Unholy Magic
Author - Stacia Kane
Date - 10/29/21
Rating - 5 Stars
Review - Damn Chess, You're a real hot mess. I shouldn't like the MC, but honestly I do. Weird huh? Chess is what is called a Churchwitch. She works for the church on cases where she has to investigate reported hauntings to see if they are valid or the person is faking it. She's good at her job despite her personal life being a total shit show. She's addicted to drugs, involved with some people that she shouldn't be, and can't seem to decide on her lovelife. Both men that she is attracted to are on opposite side (like a gang). Lex, she mostly has sex with and Terrible she's in love with and someone she has yet to have sex with. Terrible is a good guy, but when I envision him, I see Andrew Dice Clay. I don't want to see Andrew Dice Clay, but his description fits. If anyone can tell me who they envision this would help me...please...lol

Chess really screws up in this book, even though she solved one of the mysteries her personal life lies in ruins and on a cliff hanger. I have to take a small break before heading into the 3rd book. One can only take so much heartache before it gets to them.
