I make my own templates but I kind of just alter mine based on the character
If you look up a font website there should be some fun ones you can use

the_rabid_snail | 9 comments Matthias L. Koehl - Part One

Name: Matthias Lucien Koehl
Nicknames: M, Matt, Mattie, Matt Modano

Age: 16

Gender: M

House: Panther

Appearance: Matthias has messy, thick, dark brown hair that sticks out at all different angles, giving other people the impression that he just rolled out of bed, and big, puppy-dog, dark brown eyes that start as more of an amber color near the pupil and gradually darken to brown at the edges of his irises. He is roughly 5’8 and has a square shaped face. His jawline is fairly square and slightly bony, and he has a muscular build. His abs, biceps, and calf muscles are defined, and he has broad shoulders. His fingernails are almost always extremely short with rough edges from being bitten and chewed on quite frequently when he’s bored or stressed, and the skin on his hands and fingers is littered with callouses and blister marks. The rest of his skin has a light, even tan, except for his forearms, which are strangely a little paler than the rest of him. He has big, pink lips that, combined with his puppy-dog eyes, can persuade his older sister (as well as other women) to help him out when he finds himself in a tight spot. He has long legs, a long torso, and cheekbones that are just slightly higher than average. At nearly all times he sports bruises and scrapes on various parts of his body, and he has scars across his knuckles and the backs of his hands. He also has a pale scar above his right eyebrow from when the blade of another hockey player’s skate collided with his face, and another, less visible scar is just above his upper lip as a result of multiple sets of stitches from fights and being on the receiving end of a few, nasty high-sticks.
He normally prefers to wear his favorite pair of beat-up, paint-splattered jeans, but his mother has tried on multiple occasions to hide them from him, since he wears them any chance he gets. When he can’t wear his jeans, he’ll resort to one of his several pairs of cargo shorts. He’ll usually wear any old T-shirt or tank top with his jeans and his favorite, brown leather belt. His favorite shoes are boots, tennis shoes, or other closed-toed shoes. The only time he will wear flip-flops or sandals (if he’ll wear them at all) is in the summer, but he generally dislikes open-toed shoes so that would almost never happen. His left ear is pierced, and he always wears a little, black hoop earring in it, except when he’s on the ice.

Personality: The words that pop into most people’s minds when they think of Matthias are arrogant, pompous, strong, tough, and irritating. He enjoys behaving like a cocky jerk around other people and doing things just for shock value. He likes saying things to mess with people’s heads and doing the exact opposite of what people either want him to do or think he will do.
As a long-time hockey player, he’s gotten pretty tough over the years and built up a lot of muscle. He’s become accustomed to tuning out other noises while he’s playing and performs well under pressure. However, if someone pisses him off or insults him, he won’t hesitate to punch the daylights out of them, including girls. His solutions to most problems are confrontations and physical violence, although he could never bring himself to hurt his older sister, Lindsay.
Even though he’s learned not to show it, things like teasing or jokes at his expense do bother him, and it hurts him to see people he cares about in pain. He could care less about people he dislikes, though.
He has a secret soft side that doesn’t come out often, and he’s embarrassed just thinking about it. He can be a real sweetheart when he’s around someone he trusts and cares about a lot. When he’s like this, everything about him becomes quieter and gentler. The hardened, guarded expression on his face melts into something vulnerable and quiet. Even his voice becomes softer, and he seems to have turned into a completely different person. He will find himself sharing things he never would have before when he was acting like his usual jerky, irritating self, and he can be quite sensitive and thoughtful when he’s in this rare mood. He’ll even be quiet, an impossibility at all other times since he’s usually joking around or goofing off.
The only other time he’s serious and quiet is when he’s on the ice. It’s one of the only times he feels peaceful and at home. He’ll act light-hearted and like his usual, rambunctious self around the guys, but when he’s playing a game against another team, he’s dead serious, even when he wins or scores a goal.
Since other people are wary of him, even his friends, he’s never had a best friend since seventh grade or a girlfriend. Sure, the other girls might think he’s attractive, but they’d never want to be in a relationship with him. He’s too rough and gets into way too many fights. Plus, he teases them until they break down crying. He acts like his lack of close friends doesn’t bother him, but it does, something he’s only confided once in his older sister when she was home for the holidays from college. Even though he wishes he had a good friend to just hang out with since his sister is away at college most of the time, he can’t bring himself to find someone to hang out with and then actually hang out with them. He feels weird and awkward approaching people and inviting them over to do something, and he usually gets turned down anyway. Other than the fights and playful banter he engages in at school or at the ice rink, he never participates in any kind of social activity, except for the occasional party every now and then when he feels up to it.
Even though he jokes around with the guys, has plenty of friends in the jock crowd, and has a great sense of humor, he’s a very lonely guy but can’t fix his own problems, despite always wanting to do everything himself and never accepting any kind of help from other people. He might appear to be popular (sort of) and well-liked, but many people are really just wary of pissing him off. The whole school has seen what he does to people he gets fed up with. His hockey teammates seem to be the only ones who aren’t as scared of him as everyone else is, but usually at practice or during games, he’s too focused on the game and improving his play to form any close friendships. He has good relationships with most of the other guys on his team, and they can always count on him to watch their backs on and off the ice. He especially doesn’t let anyone get away with dirty plays during games. However, while he gets along with his teammates fairly well, he doesn’t have any deep, personal friendships with any of them.
Although he would never admit it to anyone, Matthias has a secret weakness for kittens and little, baby animals, especially baby foxes. He helps out at an animal shelter nearby in his many hours of free time whenever he can but refuses to make friends with any of the other workers there. He’s very patient and kind with all the animals there and would probably adopt nearly all of them if he had the space and money to do so, even those weird hairless cats.

Family:

Father: Seamus Koehl

Sister: Lindsay Koehl

History: Matthias lived in the same house he was born in with his older sister, Lindsay, for most of his life. Growing up, he wasn’t that close to his sister, but as all siblings do, he wanted to be just like her. He followed her around, copied her, tried to hang out with her all the time, and even let her and her friends dress him up and paint his nails. He also played the part of Rapunzel in their make-believe games more than once. Still, his sister mostly ignored him, except when she was bribing him to do something (he never got whatever reward she promised him, though). Eventually, he stopped trying to get her to like him and instead, made his own friends and terrorized her with plastic bugs (she was terrified of them) and other mostly harmless pranks.
After a while, the two siblings became worn out from all the fighting and instead, became very close. They were nearly inseparable and insisted on doing everything together, at least until Lindsay entered her early teen years. When that happened, Matthias was left to his own devices. At first, he tried to make her spend time with him again by giving her presents and doing favors for her, thinking she didn’t like him anymore because he’d done something wrong. Once he’d figured out that wasn’t the case, he left her alone and concentrated on his hockey. He’d been playing since he was six and had been skating for even longer.
At least once a week, his family played “living room hockey” (they’d been doing it since before he and Lindsay were born). The puck was usually a pair of folded up fuzzy socks or wadded up newspaper, and the hockey sticks were whatever the players could find. Ever since Matthias could walk, he’d been playing hockey in his own living room. Even Lindsay played when she wasn’t over at a friend’s house. When both he and his sister were little, their father took them to hockey games and taught them to skate at the rink near their house. They had knockoff jerseys of their favorite players, Benn, Lehtinen, and Radulov, and hockey was deeply ingrained into both their childhoods. Lindsay never played the sport, but she could skate well and learned to figure skate in middle school and high school. Matthias, on the other hand, learned to play as soon as he could and loved every minute of it.
As he reached middle school, he became a troublemaker at school, spending far too much time in the principal’s office or skipping school entirely to go skating at the rink. When he finally entered seventh grade, his parents laid down new expectations for him. He would not be permitted to skip school or else they would remove him from the hockey team. Additionally, he had to maintain passable grades and at least make a decent effort in his classes. Since it was only middle school and he was a very restless kid, his parents weren’t too concerned with his academic performance as long as he tried to do well and passed all his classes.
But no matter how hard he tried to stay out of trouble, it always seemed to find him. When his parents made him take two weeks off the team, things only got worse. He got into more fights at school, though he didn’t initiate all of them, and stopped making any kind of effort in his classes. It wasn’t until his parents allowed him to resume playing hockey that things got any better. As he got older and neared high school, he continued to get in trouble for fights and pranks. Things got bad enough, that his parents and the school didn’t think it would be a good idea for him to come back for ninth grade. Instead, they started looking at other schools. Matthias was not thrilled with the idea of starting over somewhere new, even with the disaster he had created at his current school. He liked his hockey team and teammates, and he had succeeded in becoming one of the few kids in school that almost no one wanted to mess with. Other kids didn’t bully him anymore, but he had become a bully, starting fights or playing dangerous pranks because he didn’t like the way someone talked to him or because he simply felt like it. He knew the school and the principal didn’t like him, but he didn’t care.

the_rabid_snail | 9 comments Matthias L. Koehl - Part Two

History cont'd: And he definitely didn’t want to start from square one somewhere else when he had already established himself as one of the top dogs at his current school. But since his parents had the final say, he had no choice no matter how hard he tried to convince them that it would be better if he didn’t transfer schools. Eventually, his parents discovered Oleander Academy through one of their close friends and decided to send him there. His father had made partner at a prestigious law firm a few years prior, so tuition wouldn’t be an issue. The academy also wasn’t too far from his home, so he could visit on weekends if he wanted to. Plus, the rink was in between his home and school, which meant he could stay on the hockey team, and there was no question when it came to continuing to play. Hockey was the one thing in the world that he would never get tired of. He spent all summer on the ice, trying not to worry about his new school and goofing off with his teammates as much as he could since he would see them less now that none of them would be in school with him.
By the time Matthias entered high school at Oleander, he’d gotten extremely good at hockey. He was one of the star players, despite starting a lot of fights on the ice and being one of the team leaders in penalty minutes. Although he still hadn’t reconciled with his sister, he was happy just to play hockey and look after their gray tabby cat, Baudelaire, and their two English Mastiffs, Beowulf and Themis, when he was home. It wasn’t until his sister entered her senior year of high school that the two siblings became close again, but now that Lindsay is away at college, Matthias hardly ever sees her. He’s in his second year at the academy now and like at his old school, has no real friends apart from acquaintances.

Classes: English, Math, Science, Business and Economics, PE, Latin, and History

Other: Matthias is a center on the top line of the hockey team at a rink between home and the academy and is one of the team leaders in goals, points, and penalty minutes. He hopes to someday make it the NHL and play for either the Stars (Dallas) or the Avalanche (Colorado). He made alternate captain at the beginning of this year and is one of the toughest players on the team.

the_rabid_snail | 9 comments Moko C. Pendra - Part One

Name: Moko Ciaran Pendra
Nicknames: Mo, Coco

Age: 17

Gender: M

House: Bobcat

Appearance:

Hair: Curly, black-brown
Eyes: Sea green
Skin: Lightly tanned. He has a slashing scar down his left cheek and several on his stomach, and his knuckles are also scarred because of a recent incident with a particularly nasty bunch of briar.
Height: 5’8

Personality: While being pretty friendly and a bit of a prankster, Moko is actually a loner born and bred, and there really is no other lifestyle more suited to him, even if it seems to contradict some of his personality traits. His adventurous spirit makes him a bit of a wanderer, so he never stays in one place for very long, looking for excitement and new discoveries. He’s known for not being able to sit still for more than five minutes, and his attention span is even shorter. The only exception is if it’s something or someone he deeply cares about. He has several little tics he uses to maintain concentration: bouncing his leg, tapping his fingers, biting his nails, etc.
He has serious commitment issues though, and it contributes to his inability to stay in any one place for too long. Even things he loves he’ll eventually abandon. This has made long-term relationships very rare and sparse for him, so he hardly ever attempts to form a friendship more than friendly banter as he knows he’ll leave and never come back again. At heart he wishes he could pursue a more sedentary lifestyle as almost always being on the move makes for an especially lonely one, and having a hand to hold (either figuratively or literally) on dark, chilly nights would bring about a comfort that is in short supply. But he simply cannot bear monotony. Waking up in the same house every day, seeing the same sights and people, and doing the same work day after day bores him until he does something impulsive and just up and disappears in the night without informing anyone as to his intended whereabouts with no plans to ever return in the future. He sincerely believes that consistency and safety dull the mind and degrade creativity and originality to the point of mediocrity and apathetic humdrum. The word settle is not in his vocabulary, and he thinks others shouldn’t have to resign themselves to a prison of languid, pointless routine. Experiences shape a person’s thoughts, actions, and mannerisms, and only the majestic and tremendous events inspire exceptionality. To truly live and make something of yourself, you have to wander aimlessly and experience as many unimaginable, implausible things as possible. That is, in essence, Moko’s philosophy.
Moko’s skin is rather tough. Insults, cruel jokes, and malicious pranks don’t really get to him since he honestly cares little for what anyone else thinks of him. He never plans on running into the same people more than once anyway, and as he does not form attachments to most people, it seems to him that other people who taunt him are really just wasting their own time. He would have to care about others in the first place to be hurt by their mockery and slanderous attacks, but purposely keeping people at arm’s length prevents this qualification from being met.
Meeting plenty of unsavory and deceitful characters through his wanderings has caused him to adopt a distrustful and cynical approach to new and unfamiliar situations. He always makes sure he has some form of insurance for himself, which has saved his hide on more than one occasion in his past travels. Though he generally has a laid back attitude, he is by no means slow, lazy, or dim-witted. In fact, it’s rather the opposite, and he is one of the sneakiest and wiliest people in existence. He has the most annoying habit of unearthing secrets other people would prefer stay hidden if he sticks around long enough, and the vast variety of people he’s encountered has taught him how to read others exceptionally well. From simple conversations he can discern any number of things about a person, including their wants, fears, attachments, personality traits, and more. Usually he only cares about whether or not someone poses a threat to him, but if he intends on remaining nearby for long enough he’ll analyze anyone he encounters more seriously.

Family:

Father: Ahab Pendra
Mother: Nia Pendra

History: Moko’s parents were Ahab and Nia Pendra, two airheads whose marriage was an enigma. Neither of them could ever be depended on to do even the simplest of tasks, like showing up for work on time or hanging the laundry out to dry. None of their neighbors understood why they were married, and whenever Moko asked around, no one could remember exactly how they came to be so. There had been no real courtship or even anything resembling one beforehand. Ahab and Nia had known each other for a while as they had grown up together in the same neighborhood, and one day when they had barely reached adulthood a couple years prior, they suddenly returned from their respective family vacations and announced their engagement. A whirlwind of wedding preparations commenced immediately after, and they were married only months later. According to the neighbors, they had never been well matched, and the first year of their marriage consisted of many late nights and shouting matches. About a year and a half after his parents had said their vows at the altar, Moko was born, and his only contribution to his parents’ evening arguments was to cry in distress. When he got older, his parents took to fighting when he wasn’t around after he asked them what he had done to make them hate each other so as a young child.
Moko’s mother stayed home while he grew up, but in truth, it would have made little difference if she hadn’t. Nia was irresponsible and impatient, and her housekeeping skills were lacking, which was evident as the state of the house was always messy, like a tornado had just whipped through it. As Moko got older, most – actually, all – of the household chores fell to him. He learned to cook from a neighbor after he nearly burnt the house down trying to make himself something for dinner, and he taught himself how to dust, clean, and organize, which wasn’t terribly difficult. The three girls next door let him come over to visit or do schoolwork with them, though sometimes he did it alone as the youngest of the girls, Corela, ceaselessly batted her eyes at him and ruffled his hair whenever he was near. The other two, Rosalie the elder sister and Dahlia their cousin, were much more relaxed and typically better company, even if Rosalie did sometimes tease him for silly things. He was uncertain why Dahlia lived with the sisters and their parents instead of her own, but after both sisters gave him a threatening glare when he tried to broach the subject one afternoon, he never brought it up again.
While Moko was going to school and keeping the house in decent shape, Nia did… whatever it was she did. Moko honestly had no idea what she did with her abundance of leisure time, but when he finally did find out, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise given how flighty his mother was. Apparently, his parent’s marriage had always been so unhappy and fraught with fights that his mother had sought comfort in the arms of one of their neighbors. It started out innocent, but in the last couple of years it had turned into an affair. When Moko’s father found out, he was livid, and Moko took refuge next door with Dahlia, Rosalie, and Corela, though his parents’ voices carried to the girls’ porch where they were lounging in the rocking chairs with snacks and glasses of chilled tea.
In the following months, Moko spent most of his time with the neighbors, often heading directly next door with the girls right after school to avoid the near-tangible tension in the air of his own home. Sometimes he helped out the elders in his neighborhood for spare pocket change, and most evenings he was sprawled out on a rocking chair or just lying down on the porch with a plate of whatever Dahlia had baked for dessert, watching Corela pick flowers or chase after moths in the yard while Rosalie perused through a book or hummed a tune softly. Every so often, the oldest sister could be persuaded to serenade them with a song, and after the echoes of the last note faded into silence, she would blush madly despite Moko and Dahlia’s enthusiastic applause and ask if there was any dessert leftover, scampering into the house to check before anyone could answer. Moko’s favorite dessert was Dahlia’s dump cake since she usually let him help or, rather, pester her into letting him pick the fruit for the filling. As there was really no way to mess up a dump cake, Dahlia allowed him to pour in the fruit while she mixed the rest of the ingredients and sliced the butter into small squares for the crust, and sometimes when she wasn’t looking, he snuck a piece of fruit in his mouth instead of putting it in the cake pan. Sadly, she caught him a few times and made him weed the garden with Rosalie, who was fortunately better company. While Dahlia was stern and practical, Rosalie was more carefree, content to imagine the adventures she wanted to have someday, and that was one of the things Moko liked best about her, though her angelic singing was not to be underappreciated either. Being nearly the same age, Moko liked mapping out where they should go once they finished school. Of course, Dahlia and Corela were welcome to come along too, but somehow he doubted they’d want to. Rosalie obliged him, adding her own preferences to the map, and eventually they had a solid roadmap sketched out. But events transpired that put a dent in their plans.
Things between Moko’s parents got worse and worse until his father accepted a job promotion that placed him in another city. However, he would not allow either Nia or Moko to accompany him. Not able to take it anymore, Moko’s mother ran off with their adulterous neighbor a couple months later, and Moko was left alone. After a week of going to school and carrying on as normal, he realized there was no reason for him to stay. No real obstacles to keep him from embarking on his adventure existed, and he elatedly packed the essential supplies and a few other things he couldn’t bear to part with and threw pebbles at Rosalie’s window that night until she climbed down the tree near the side of the house. He had been so sure that she would spontaneously agree to go with him that he was unprepared when she said no. She hadn’t finished school, but even if she had, she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she left in the middle of the night without giving Dahlia, Corela, and her parents a proper goodbye. Moko grabbed her hand as she turned to leave and embraced her tightly, only releasing her to peck her on the lips in farewell. He left, disappointed, but promised himself that he would return for her in a year or two, cementing the picture of her astounded face when he kissed her in his memory.
His travels took him far away and all over the continent, but every adventure he had ultimately reminded him of Rosalie at some point. So not long after he left, he returned to visit Rosalie, Dahlia, and Corela. Dahlia, being the oldest of the three, was married now and happily scraping by in another part of town. Corela was still in school, but Rosalie was working. Smart as she was, Moko assumed she had finished her schooling early.

History cont'd: Come to find out, that was not the case. Rosalie and Corela’s parents had died in an accident, forcing the older of the sisters to drop out of school and work. Moko waited on the porch in a rocking chair for her to come home one evening with every intention of bringing her along on his next journey, but she refused, her voice and eyes lifeless compared to how they had been before he left. There were too many responsibilities, and she had to care for Corela. Dahlia couldn’t afford it, and it wouldn’t be right to leave her little sister now. She requested to hear some of his adventures and travels, and he indulged her, pleased with the sparks of excitement temporarily returning to her eyes. Before departing again, he kissed her to say goodbye, giving her his word that he would be back again someday to visit.
Troubled by the weight that caused Rosalie’s shoulders to droop, he decided to walk to one of the bigger cities nearby where he hoped to find his father. On the way there, bandits attacked him, and since he had almost nothing of value to give them, they beat him to a pulp and left him by the side of the road. Somehow he managed to drag himself little by little down the road, and when he was about a mile from the city, a group of traveling musicians passing by took pity on him and dressed his wounds. Since they were also going to the city, they offered to let him travel with them, and he gladly accepted. During the last mile they entertained him with song after song, and his favorite one was a story about a young banker’s son. The banker’s son wasted all the money his father had given him, so when his trunk of belongings was empty, he locked himself in it. However, the trunk began to fly, and he landed in a rich kingdom. Up in a castle tower there was a beautiful princess, so the banker’s son flew up in his trunk to visit her. The princess mistook him for a wizard and said she would marry him if her parents approved. The banker’s son told the king and queen the most elaborate, exciting story he could think of, and they agreed to let him marry the princess. Joyfully, the “wizard” bought armfuls of firecrackers and set them off from his flying trunk for everyone in the city to enjoy, but the next day when he went to climb inside to fly up and marry the princess, he discovered that the trunk had caught fire because of the firecrackers and burned. Now he could no longer see the princess, and she waited and waited for him forever.
At the city limits, Moko waved goodbye to the musicians and after asking around, found his father’s new home. His father was astounded when he suddenly showed up on his doorstep, but after Moko explained that his mother had left him and that bandits had robbed and beaten him, his father allowed him to come inside. The inside of his father’s new house was much nicer than his old home had been, so he assumed that his father was doing well in his work. Upon hearing that he had dropped out of school, his father ‘tsked’ and sat him down on the rug. He informed Moko that he would be finishing his school whether he liked it or not and that he would use some of the money he had saved up to send him to a new school he had heard of while living in the city, Oleander Academy. Moko snorted, thinking this was an absurd idea. He had also heard mention of the school and knew it wasn’t for ordinary people like him, but despite having nothing special about himself, his father assured him that he would be able to go. When Moko asked why they would accept him into the school, his father told him that he had friends in the school and enough income from his promotion to afford to send him there. Now that Moko was convinced he could attend the school, he thought he might like it. It would be new and different, and there would be all sorts of people there that he might never be able to meet otherwise. Happy enough to attend for a while, Moko packed up his few belongings and some of his father’s money and made the journey to Oleander Academy.

Classes: English, Math, Science, Art, History, and PE

Other: Probably the most goofy person ever. This is his first year at the academy.

Aspen Darius Mahogany - 13 - Male [He/Him] - Pansexual - Lynx House

Aspen is mature, if anything. He has no trouble handling intense situations and overwhelming emotions. Or so it seems. He can keep a level head and is usually very emotionally neutral. Aspen thinks with his head, and absolutely ignores his feelings. Aspen is quiet and thoughtful, prefers to observe rather than talk, but don't mistake his silence for shyness. He isn't afraid to speak he mind, but prefers to stay quiet to seem much more intelligent. Aspen has some impressive impulse control, and can take control of almost any situation. He has this sort of.. calming aura around him, maybe it's his monotone voice or the fact that he always seems to know just what to say. He tends to have a large circle of friends, but can seem distant and far away. Aspen has no problem fitting in, but only because he can hide as someone he isn't.
Aspen is cautious and calm and seems to make the best decisions without a problem. Inside he's someone who cannot cope with his feelings and struggles with everything. He is very sensitive and insecure. He's made himself into who he wants to be, but not who he truly is. He's learned to be able to keep a neutral face and has almost complete control over his body language. Aspen is frighteningly hard to read and decipher, and can come off as cold sometimes, but he's quick to help others. Everything seems to bounce off of him, but he can't help but let those words sink in. He's outwardly mature and serene, and is often mistaken for an adult, despite his age. Aspen is far more fragile than he comes off to be, and is one who needs to be handled like a fragile rose otherwise he'll shrivel up and fall apart. Usually, he's the only one there to nurture himself back to working order.
Aspen can be very monotone and almost superficial at time, which might seem unnerving. He can be scary if he tries, but usually he appears non-threatening and unimportant. This is only because Aspen hates attention, but because his compliance to attend events and a large circle of friends, he now has severe anxiety and he tends to overthink it all. Aspen, inwards, is a nerdy, emotional person, but forced himself to be someone else. The Aspen you see, isn't who he is inside, but he's incredibly hard and controlling on himself and has only forced himself into a groove he sees as perfect. Except he still don't like who he's made himself out to be.

Spend some time alone
Understand that soon you'll run with better men

By the age of five, Aspen was well acquainted with death and the dark. He'd lost his mother to her own hands and his father to a drunken car crash. Living with his elder brother, he'd find himself stuck in his room while his brother held parties in the house. They barely had enough money to scrape by and Aspen still hadn't started school. By 7, CPS finally took Aspen away and he found a foster home and managed to start school. Even though he missed 2 years, Aspen stayed at the top of his class. He'd moved around a lot, and when he was in 4th grade, that's when he started to change.
He'd encountered several people and found that a lot of people didn't like him, he'd be verbally bullied by kids around him. It got to a point where, when in 5th grade, a group of boys jumped him on his way home and burned off several ares of his skin with lighters. It was painful, and all he remembers was how afraid and lost he felt. In 6th grade he'd changed himself completely. Aspen was now a lot more secluded and more mature, haunted by those who'd hurt him in the past. He still found himself getting into fights all because he was intelligent, and started to defend himself. He had a small circle of friends at this point, but one of his closest friends took her own life because he'd made a mistake and pushed her to the edge. He refuses to forgive himself for this, and still sometimes wakes up crying from nightmares of that night.
Aspen sprinted after Hailee, she'd left her bike just before the bridge started. He saw her standing on the railing, wobbling dangerously. She turned and smiled at him, tears streaming from her face. "I love you." She had said before stepping off. Aspen screamed with horror, feeling himself start to cry. Leaning over the the edge of the bridge, watching her body disappear into the cold, dark water broke him. The next day, when he woke up, he felt numb and couldn't process what had happened. His social life fell apart, and he became an outcast. In 8th grade, he became even more different than he was before, and his guardians decided to put him into Oleander Academy.

Aspen has a pale, hollow face. His eyes sunken in their sockets and his cheekbones high and prominent. He speaks with a fairly heavy English accent. Aspen's eyes are a strikingly neon blue, but are ringed with dark bags under them. Aspen is incredibly tall for his age, standing at roughly 5'7 and 124 lbs. Just a lil' note, again, I don't make these characters to mock those with literal mental health issues. This is a form of venting for me, coping if you will, these characters are somewhat a part of me, even if a little. I don't take these things lightly, so don't mistake this pattern in my character making for me just trying to "be a trendy bitch." That's not who I am. I simply travel down these kinds of paths because none of my characters will be perfect, and neither am I. Thank you.

Like butterflies, people only stay for a while.
