MountainKat | 31597 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 10, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Lioness7 | 179 comments Hi all. I'm just checking in. I guess I'll tell you a little about myself. I currently live in North Carolina, so I am in the EST. I usually only get on at night though. I have terrible internet speed during the day, so nighttime is usually the only time that works good for me.

I love reading. I tend to read romance, horror, and fantasy the most. I'll also pick up thrillers and sci-fi if the book blurb sounds interesting. The first three are my favorite genres to read though.

Other than reading, I like to play games now and then. I also love to do paper crafts. I am limited on the amount of time I can sit at a table though due to a leg injury I received last year. I can walk some but am pretty much laid up in my recliner for a good portion of the day.

I don't tend to watch a great deal of tv. I do catch the anime they show on the Cartoon Network on Saturday though. I love anime and Korean dramas. I also love horror and fantasy movies a ton.

I tried to think up a couple of team names. I came up with:

Romance Racers
Racing Readers
Adventurers in Romance
Reading Addicts

They aren't the greatest, but I'll keep thinking and post if something else sounds good.

Has anyone ever done this challenge before? Who wants to be captain?

I think that is all I have for now.

message 10: by Char (new)

Char | 403 comments And , must every book be tagged MPG Romance apart from fitting the task?

message 11: by Sexyladi (new)

Sexyladi | 2252 comments No when we finished a task MK will assigned another one from the list above and the faster we finish the more task we will receive.
Yes every book must be tagged MPG Romance or the book will be disqualified. Also you Must have the first kindle edition page number or you will be asked to repost you cannot edit your post.

Right.. so we don't need to track our tasks , right?
MK already has a post for that...
Or should we have a post for tracking too?

message 13: by Sexyladi (new)

Sexyladi | 2252 comments We have to keep track of posting too. Their is a space below are names for tracking which the captain keeps track of.

actually books in this challenge don't need to be MPG Romance (unless that is specific task of course) last paragraph on first post in sign up thread:

There is a 150 page minimum for books, rereads and audios ok. Books may only be used once per player during the challenge. Players may read the same book for a task unless otherwise specified. Books do not have to be romance, but must be fiction.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 675 comments Hi all, checking in.

My name is Nikki and I live in Sydney Australia with my husband, 9 year old daughter, 1 dog and 1 cat.

I read mostly paranormal, paranormal romance but will also read ya, cozies, thrillers, contemporary and historical romances depending on my mood. I think I have played nearly every round of this game so far.

Happy for Charanya to be captain and let me know if you need help.

What my team did last round prior to starting was to identify questions for example 82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series. so we could make some of those decisions early and save time once the challenge starts for reading:

i found this worked really well and saved us a lot of time throughout the challenge. This is also one of my favourite challenges so looking forward to it :-)

message 16: by Lioness7 (new)

Lioness7 | 179 comments Charanya, thanks for volunteering to be captain.

Nikk, that sounds like a really good idea. For #82 or similar challenges, we could make a post and keep track of who is reading what. I can work on doing that.

For series' where we each have to read a separate book, we will need to pick one where each book is part of the series but covers a different character or event. I'll mark down the numbers we need to look for books for and decide on. I should have that up by tomorrow night.

message 17: by Lioness7 (new)

Lioness7 | 179 comments Below are the topics that we will need to make decisions on as a team. Many of them require choosing books based on your birth year or month. So, I think the easiest thing would be to start with everyone giving a couple of top choices for each of the questions. Then we can go back and see where everyone is leaning. I'll put my answers below the questions so you can kinda see what I mean. I'll try to pick stuff that everyone might enjoy since I know some of my book likes might not fit everyone's liking.

1. Each player reads a book by the same author, teams decide author.
- Tymber Dalton
- Cherise Sinclair
- Caroline Peckham
- Penelope Ward
- Ashley Jade
- Tijan
- Julie Garwood
- Lynsay Sands
- Raymond E Feist
- Avery Song
- JR Rice

9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.

12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.
-
18. Read over 750 pages in books tagged/shelved with 'favorite'.
- What does tagged/shelved 'favorite' mean?

27. Read a minimum of 750 pages in books published in any one year prior to 2018, team picks the year.
- I am fine with any year picked, I just prefer more recent than older.

28. Each teammate reads a book from a teammate's to-read shelf, no pass for this task.
-
29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.
- I like cowboys, doctors, and cops the most. I don't mind lawyers, but I don't like books that spend their whole time talking about legal topics.

33. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.
- I like mpreg, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, dark, etc. I am not really picky about the sub-genre.

49. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.
- I have no idea about this. I don't really care what we pick for this one.

50. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location
- This is a little harder. Do we pick the same town/city? If so, I would go with someplace that easy to find books set in. I know of several books set in Chicago, London, and New York City. If we go by state, it would be easier. What do you guys think?

51. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task.
- I listed some of my favorites previously. I don't really care if we pick one of them or someone else. I just prefer something that has something paranormal, comedic, or actions filled.

52. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
- Blue, red, and black seem to be pretty prevalent. I am fine with any color though. Yellow seems a bit harder to find something good in.

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
- I am no good for this one. I don't think I have ever lived in a town where a book is set. I have always lived in the country and not really close to any cities.

55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
- I enjoy books set in Europe, Asia, and Australia. I am fine with whatever country though. I know I have several set in Korea and a couple set in Australia, Scotland, England, and Ireland.

56. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
- We could each pick 25 books and add them together to make one list. Do we want to set up a Google Doc to keep all this info in? If so, I can do that without any trouble.

58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate.
- I found where it says I've been a group member since March 30, 2012.

64. Read 6 books not set on a continent of a teammate. Space does not count - must be a real continent
- I am fine with any continent. My favorites would be: Africa, Europe, Asia, or Australia.

70. Read a minimum of 1200 pages in books of the same sub-genre, but by different authors.
- I'm okay with whatever sub-genre.

71. Pick another team and each member reads one book that was read by a member for this challenge. No pass for this task.
- I'll have to update my read list. I got injured and am way behind. I know I have probably 600-700 books not listed since last year.

72. Read 4 books published in the decade of a teammate's birth, team decides which teammate.
- Born in the 1970's

73. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books by the same author, teams decide author.
- Again, you can take a look at some of the authors I listed above or we can with someone entirely different.

74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month.
- Born in May

75. Read over 1000 pages in books that start with the same letter (no articles), teams decide letter.
- Any letter is fine with me.

76. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.
- Flowers, cocktails, hearts, chocolate, cake, pumpkins, Christmas ornaments - Anything that is more prevalent. I just want a few books to choose from.

77. Each teammate reads a book that the teammate after them alphabetically has rated 5 stars. No pass for this task.
- Charanya - Reads a book from Lioness7
- Lioness7 - Reads a book from Nikk
- Nikk - Reads a book from Sexyladi
- Sexyladi - Reads a book from Charanya

79. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.
- I'm not sure on this one.

80. Read 4 books initially published in different decades.
- We could start with the most recent and work backwards unless somebody has some classics they are interested in.

82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series.
- I'll have to look this one up some before listing any.

84. Pick a category from the current RRRC Monthly Challenge and read 6 books for that category. Reader's Choice is exempt from this task.
- We'll have to wait on this one.

88. Read 6 books with a boat, plane, car or motorcycle on the cover, teams decide which.
- I would probably go with car or boat on this one.

90. Each member reads a book published in sequential months, i.e. June, July, August and September 2019. Teams decide which months. No pass for this task.
- I don't really have a specific month I like. I can really find something for about any.

91. Add up the years of the teammates' births and each teammate reads a book with that minimum number of pages. For example, teammates were born in 75, 83, 87 and 94 - each teammate reads a book at least 339 pages long. No pass for this task.
- Well, I was born in 76.

92. Read over 1500 pages in books set in the future or the past - teams decide.
I prefer future but have some historical romances I could read for this.

93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
- I'll have to do a little looking before listing some.

94. Read 6 books published in sequential years, teams decide years.
- I prefer more recent but don't care which.

95. As a team, select an animal. Read 8 books tagged with that animal.
- Wolves have quite a few books.

96. Read a minimum of 1200 pages with the sun or the moon on the cover, teams decide which.
- I prefer moon.

99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them.
- I'll have to think about this one also.

**There are a couple of questions I'll have to look into before posting more info. Otherwise, I listed my favorites above if I had any.

Char | 403 comments - What does tagged/shelved 'favorite' mean?
The book should have been shelved as favourite. In the website, if you look at the book , you get the main genres on the right. There'd be an link to 'see more shelves' , which shows us what people have shelved the book as. The word favourites must be there.

For example, in I'll Be There , which I'm going to read, the genres are YA, Family, Sociology etc.. If you click on the 'See more shelves', you are redirected to this page
https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...

Where , favourites is in the first row. 5th column

message 45: by Char (new)

Char | 403 comments We got our first task..

Which month are we gonna read for?

0. Each teammate reads a book initially published in a fall month, teams decide which month.

As a team select a fall month. Fall this year is from September 22 through December 21 - so you may select September, October, November or December, then everyone reads a book initially published in the selected month of any year. For this task, use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected month in your completion posts.

message 46: by Lioness7 (new)

Lioness7 | 179 comments I personally like either October or December the most. I'll read any though. I can find books for Halloween or Christmas during those two months, which makes it funner.
