Totally agree, the first book is better. But you have to read the second anyway, especially after how book 1 ends!

Task 16 - 98. Read 8 books with fewer than 10 letters in the title.
The books selected for this task need to have 9 or fewer letters in the title. Do not count punctuation or spaces, ampersands count as 1 letter.

It took a while to get i to this as Arthur & Gabe had already had their HEA in a previous book, so to bring another into their relationship didnt sit good with me , but i really liked Dale and i think that helped me accept Gabe's polyamorous side and ultimately like them as a 3 instead of 2

Task 16 - 98. Read 8 books with fewer than 10 letters in the title.

Review:
What a surprise!
This is another book I "just" picked cause it fit for a couple of my challenges and through the first pages I thought "ugh, I shouldn't have picked this one, this is going to drag......". But a few pages later this story started to get to me. It captured me more and more with every page I turned. Not only didn't I want to put it down but I wanted to savor it, to give it time to enfold. It's a book you shouldn't rush through.
There are two stories entwined.
Truman's, a freshman in highschool, who has to endure a lot by the typical highschool bullies. We get his struggle, his fear, his desperation. But most of all we get his awesomeness and strength!
And then there's Dane. A dedicated teacher at Truman's highschool who just lost his wife in an accident. He loved his wife, he loves his two teenaged kids, is a family man and deep deep down he knows that he's gay. Together with Seth, the new teacher at the school who moved there after his fiance cheated on him, Dane tries to help Truman to find his way. And doing that, he finds his own way and his love to Seth.
All the characters are well displayed, multi dimensional. Truman and his mum. Dane, Seth and Dane's kids.
They all struggle, just in different ways. And they all have so much love to give!!
There were so many emotions, I cried, felt and smiled while reading.

A sweet romance, the perfect start to the holiday season.
I also listened to the audio and like Amanda already said Seb Yarrick did a wonderful job with the narration. :)

Book 1

XOXO, Santa by Spencer Spears
312 Pages
How it qualifies: 9 Letters in title
Completed: 11/13/2021
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: Oh how I loved this! Spencer Spears has been an author that's been on my TBR for forever, but the length of his stories always makes me afraid to pick one up; I won't be making that mistake again! I was laughing from like page one, and almost took my husband's head off when he wanted me to take a break to eat breakfast.Sweet, funny, absolutely charming. This book was just so freaking good.
Book 2

Book 3

You to Me by Lyn Forester
251 Pages
How it qualifies: 7 letters in title
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: Great worldbuilding, and a super sweet story. This whole universe that Forester has created is just so interesting!

you've got that right Kat - I so didn't see that coming at the end of Book 1... what a great cliff hanger!

Well, when the hunky firefighter "rescues" him... *sparks* fly!
It's totally adorable (and super freaking hot) - you're going to like it.

I got killed, between Bingo, Christmas Bingo, PtP, and SatC - almost nothing lined up.

Finch by Piper Scott

Review: Super cute. Not as detailed in the storyline as some of the others, but it's a really nice romance. Michael Ferriauolo does a spectacular job with Hugh's voice.

Thanks Amanda for the tip about the book also working for Bingo. I hadn't started reading my second book and changed it after your recommendation to Trio. :)

Do you know of any challenges starting up soon? Wende just asked me for some but also with this ending, and mythology ending at the end of the month I'm going to be so lost!

BTC will start up again soon - too soon for me, I'm not ready yet!

Here is your next task!
Task 17 - 33. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.
As a team select a sub-genre and than read 6 books in that sub-genre. Please include the selected sub-genre in your completion posts.

Do you know of any challenges starting up soon? Wende just asked me for some but also with this ending, and mythology ending at the end of the month I'm going to be so lost!"
I havent come across any where you pick your own teams.
I e skipped a few lately as had this one/ SATC/Mythology
Im doing "its all greet to me " ..will let wende know about that one , think laura said hoping for 3/4 teams so may be on with other mm readers

Yes, that's an easy one. :)
Are we going to see this as our last task and read kinda relaxed for it or are we trying to get one more task before the challenge ends on the 17th?

I did tell her I thought this was the case, so this is good to know! I don't know how you do it back to back

I'm thinking if we get to it, we get to it but don't try to rush it. I have an arc to read which doesn't have MM Romance anywhere I can really use to prove and was going to wait until Christmas Bingo to make my choice so will see if it's something I get through quickly or not (unless anyone wants me to rush).

Book 1

A Christmas to Die For by Jessica Frances
281 Pages
How it qualifies: MPG MM Romance
Date Read: 11/15/2021
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: This was so different than any Christmas story I've read and I really enjoyed it. It's pretty violent, but Frances has such great comedic timing that it wasn't unbearable and all around just interesting and fun.

Book 1

Hudson's Luck by Lucy Lennox
349 pages
How it qualifies: MPG MM Romance
Read: 16 Nov
Rating: πππ
Review: I'm going to be brutally honest here. Aside from the fact that there's an unrealistic amount of non-communication between Hudson and Charlie, I'm stunned by the way the author handles Hudson's sexual identity.
In this day and age, even in a tiny Texas town, espescially when his entire family is gay, Hudson's inability to deal with his attraction to Charlie is ridiculous. It put me off the whole story.
Plus, I've never been a fan of Michael Pauley doing accents, and his Irish accent is every bit as awful as I'd feared.
Book 2

Unfit to Print by K.J. Charles
154 pages
Read: 16 Nov
Rating: ββββ
Review: First off Vikas Adam does a spectacular job with this narration - just beautiful.
I loved the story, and the relationship between the MCs was very interesting.

I really liked it! So different, but good.

I understand some of the negative reviews I've read, Lucy Lennox isn't doing the best job with Hudson discovering his fluid sexuality.

Yeah it's my least favorite of the series. Especially coming off Wilde Fire which is one of the best in my opinion.

Is this the part of the challenge where we just keep reading and updating our posts till the end?
