Pet is back at her home with her supernatural "owners", but under renegotiated terms. She's no longer exactly a pet, though not an equal, but they are agree to help her when she asks as long as it's a case of humans having trouble with BehindKind. This is tested when her friend Morgana asks her to help find an online gamer friend of hers that has gone missing.

This series continues to be entertaining and manages to come up with fresh ideas for each new book. The overarching plot line of the murderer who is probably responsible for the death of her parents, as well as the question of the heirling who will ascend the throne Behind progresses as it is woven into the side stories. Three more books to go, and I am still very engaged and looking forward to what comes next.
