Fall Read-a-Thon 2021: Team Wonderland

I finished All the Way to the Tigers. It is such an obvious animal print I decided to start another dragon. I think we can do it. We still have a couple days.

I just finished Duel of Fire by Jordan Rivet. I added it to "A book featuring a "fiery" character" but we can use it for the other dragon prompts if we need to.
It looks like my apartment complex will be out of the Internet over the weekend, so I won't be able to update the spreadsheet with new reads but I will keep up with the chat. I can also update my daily tally.
I'm planning on finishing From the Shadows: Villainous Tales of Dark Lords, Despots, and Devils by the end of the read-a-thon.

I'm hoping to get 2 books finished today The Whispered Word and Murder at Pooch Park and maybe an audio tomorrow.

I finished two novellas to complete another banshee! I can definitely read a couple more tonight and tomorrow for one more banshee or maybe a wraith.

I only have a couple minutes but I wanted to mention that I'm almost done with a book with a GREEN Color. I also finished The Art of Hearing Heartbeats, which has people who died and RURAL AREA

I might be able to read one more book after this.

Emma, do you think you'll be able to finish your 500 page book? If so, I can cover Rural area and Green Cover. Both of these could also be switched to someone who died.

We would still need a book with OGRE letters to earn and OGRE.

My choices for tonight and tomorrow are: Beloved (Norbert or Red Cover), Madness of Crowds (fiery character or someone who died), and two others.

I finished Miss Kopp Investigates, which works for rural, but it also works for source of light on the cover or fiery character if we want to try to squeeze in another dragon.

I should finish Stiff tomorrow but unfortunately that really only works for death.

I started a new dragon with the red cover and I hope to finish which works for death, source of light and green cover.
I still need to figure out my page count for a few days...maybe tomorrow.

I finished From the Shadows today, which was one of my 500+ page books. I've updated the spreadsheet with that information. I have family visiting tomorrow, so I won't be able to finish another book

I just realized that my cozy mystery series that I paused reading for this challenge had a small hand print on every cover 🤦‍♀️. I have a paranormal, or hand print audio that I hope to get to today but all week I fall asleep while listening to it (I’ve been so tired this week so hopefully I will get some cleaning done today and finish it since it is preset short).

I the # of options on the planning tab is not accurate. I only noticed that Lois has one book in progress for the 500 pages and the column is showing we have 0 options. I have no idea if there are any other books left off the # of options column.

I plan to read today. It is probably the only book I will be reading because I also plan to play Pokemon Go if the weather is decent.

I fixed the formulas, they didn't include the last 4 columns.

There's a chance I can finish A Little Princess today, depending on whether I do chores or ignore them.

Just finished Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers and put it for death of a character, so we now have slayed 7 banshees!

I also realized if I do both audio and print of A Little Princess I can almost definitely finish it today. It works for both death of a character and long hair on the cover so we could get one more banshee done if anyone can finish the other of those two prompts.

I just finished Brighty of the Grand Canyon to slay our 6th dragon. This is most likely my last book of the read-a-thon. I don't know if I will be able to finish anymore books by tonight. I will post any additional pages if I have any.

I have 90 minutes left of my audiobook and it will work for death of a character. It will be my last book for the read-a-thon.

It looks like once Lois finishes Gemini, we'll have our last Ogre. Is anyone else working on a 500 page book?

Unless the charts are not up-to-date, we should only pursue one or two more banshees after killing that last Ogre.

I think I'm done now. I have a bad headache, and I'm only half way through The Secrets Between us (a person dies). Nancy, if it's really needed, let me know.

I finished A Little Princess and put it in for long hair on the cover, so if Jillian finishes hers with death of a character we should be all set. Go take care of your headache and don't worry about us!

That will be it for completed books for me. I may read some pages tonight that I'll add in case we can get another harpy.

I finished The Ghost and Mrs. McClure by Alice Kimberly and put it down for a death of a character. If anyone finishes a book and it only works for death of a character feel free to move it to paranormal.

I don't know if anyone is still reading. We would need a 500 page book to complete our last Ogre, so I moved two of the other books to make a Banshee.

If someone does finish a 500 pager, you can move these back to Ogre.

Great job team! I'm impressed by how well we did. I just added the pages I read last night that did get us one more harpy.

I know it's not a real competition but I like to see how my team does compared to the others, and we blew them all away! We had 69 monsters slayed, and 6550 points. The second closest had 53 and 5450 points!

Rachel and Laurii were reading beasts with over 4000 pages read each, and Allie and NancyJ both had over 50 hours on audio. My hat is off to all of you.

Thank you all. I am totally going to go back and read the books by Victoria Laurie, since I forgot how much I liked her.
Also, I have started with my daughters, since they think it sounds cute.

I was wondering why I had never read Victoria Laurie before this event and am really enjoying her books. I am going to save the second Abby Cooper, psychic eye series for the tarot prompt next year and will read on in that series after that.
