The Wide Window question

Essentially, this book series is about the unfortunate events the 3 Baudelaire orphans experience throughout their journey, and the misfortune they bring along with them are always trying to get to them. A quote I enjoy from "The Wide Window" is "The town of Lake Lachrymose is a resort, and when the nice weather comes it's as crowded as can be. But around now, things here are as dead as the cat I ran over this morning."
