It's time for our next ATY Read-a-Thon!

For those of you who have done a read-a-thon for the this group in the past, this should look familiar. If you're new to this, allow us to explain!

What do I have to do to participate?
If you are interested in participating and can commit to actively engaging in the read-a-thon, then please sign up in the comments below. We have chosen the categories so this group activity is fair and fun for readers of all speeds.

Please only sign up if you can commit to checking in with your team (on Goodreads) at least 5 times during the September 11-19 schedule.

How many teams will there be?
It will greatly depend on how many people sign up and how much they think they will be able to read. We are targeting 8-10 people per group.

QUESTIONNAIRE (This helps us sort teams!)
1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?
2. How many books do you usually finish in a week?
3. Which time zone do you live in?
4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.)

message 25: by Roxana (new)

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments 1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?
Medium-to-fast reader, but I'll be traveling for the last couple of days of this readathon, so that'll slow me down at that point.

2. How many books do you usually finish in a week?
3-5, again, will be traveling for the very end of this schedule so I'm erring on the lower side of my average.

3. Which time zone do you live in?
Pacific

4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
Yes, up to, again, the last couple of days while I'll be traveling and can't guarantee I'll always have internet access. But before that (and possibly even then, I'm just not sure), yes!

message 33: by L Y N N (new)

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) 1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?
Since I still work full-time and have a very regular and rigid workout schedule Monday thru Friday, the bulk of my reading is done on the weekends. However, for this event I have already pulled about 50 shorter books from which to select and I believe I should be able to read at least at a medium if not fast speed.

2. How many books do you usually finish in a week?
Typically 3-5 but I will plan to complete at least 5-7 books during this event.

3. Which time zone do you live in?
Eastern Daylight Time

4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
Yes, at least several times per day.

5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.)
Not really. I would help as much as possible, but it can be very time-consuming to lead and this is one of the busiest times of the year at my job. (That's why I voted for the latest time period listed! LOL)

1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?

Medium-fast

2. How many books do you usually finish in a week?

It obviously depends on length and how engrossed I am, but normally three to five.

3. Which time zone do you live in?

BST (UK)

4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?

Yes.

5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.)

I don't mind helping with the spreadsheet stuff, but I don't want to be team leader (although I often seem to end up as co-chair!)
