He wanted to get it right and I respect that. His persistence and patience payed off. But, I thought is came of as cold and calculating, like a businessman planning a corporate takeover, not a man who loves and cares for a woman. I totally missed any spark of passion in him.
I think he did it right. He didn't want to hurt Daisy and even consulted with a psychiatrist to make sure he moved forward at the right pace. Anita, I didn't think he was calculating and cold, I thought he cared so much for Daisy that he wanted to show her he could wait until she was ready.
He was too alpha. He determined what the “correct” pace was for their relationship to progress. He decided what Daisy needed and when and I thought he was dismissive when she tried talking to him about it. It didn’t work for Daisy since she was going to leave him.
I think he got most of it right. He had to guess at the pace, after having listened to Daisy talk about not ever being able to be touched again. What he missed was when she had healed and thought he knew better than she did. But, when Daisy set him straight, he made the adjustment immediately. He’s very alpha but works out compromises with her.
While his heart was definitely in the right place and his caution was warranted at first, he should have been paying more attention to what Daisy was actually saying to him. He almost lost her because he was missing the cues.
