There were good elements, but this book just didn't quite make me like it enough for a full 3 stars, which is disappointing. I can see why this was made into a Hallmark movie, but the must have deleted the Christian stuff, since it has about that depth to it (ie not much.) There was nothing unpredictable about this--while the romance is a given, it would have been great to have at least something unexpected but believable happen. There seems to be only so much fodder for women teaching school in one room school houses, but naturally it has to be possible to make it better, and in this instance depth of character would have helped a great deal, or even a struggle of faith or something not so stereotypical.

I am not planning to read the next book in this series, and read it because it came up somehow for a reading game.
