Yes :) It's awesome to learn what God's revealing to us together.
Hi Evelyn! Maybe starting off having a conversation (to get to know how she feels about Chrisianity right now) might be a good route to take. I hope everything works out for you :)

Hi Evelyn! I'm so proud of you for giving your life to Christ and wanting to teach your daughter about God. I'd like to offer you (and anyone else reading this) a free ebook copy of my bible study book "The No-Homework Women's Bible Study: Group Hug". Even though it's typically used in women's Bible study groups, the study is designed to specifically stimulate Christian conversation about relevant topics and I think you may find it to be a useful tool in helping you connect with your daughter about God. To get a copy, go to www.smashwords.com, search for the title, put it in your cart and check out. During the checkout process, use code BC56U to get the book for free. I set the coupon code to expire on April 11, so if you're interested, you'll need to get it before then. I hope it helps you have the conversations you need to have with her and blesses you both. May your relationship grow and blossom into the beautiful experience God wants you both to have with each other. Have a blessed day, Christine Tate

Christine thank you so much, I will download your book ASAP :-) I have gave my daughter the Bible and told her that Jesus loves her so much that he gave his life for her. Your book sounds very interesting, maybe we could use it as a group and study together? Xxx

Ashley Thanks I think you gave good advice there as I have given her the full Bible and not just one Gospel <3 .

Yes, I think it would be very effective if the two of you could use it as a study together. Since you don't get to see her as often as you would like, the ice-breaker section that starts each lesson would be a good way to ease you both back into relaxing and communicating with each other. The specific Bible verses that apply to the lesson are also provided so you can focus on applying them through discussion and life application. My prayer for the two of you is that your bond strengthens as you grow in love for both each other and God. Be sure to let me know how things go! I'm rooting for both of you. :) Christine

Thanks again Christine, I have downloaded your book and skimmed through quickly and it seems perfect :)xx
Well I kind of do, it's more of a mini vacation, my family and I are going to Savannah GA for my sister and my birthdays next weekend.
sounds fun!
Just realized that I can legally get married. How weird is that?? Well a lot of us can but its funny to think about

I've mostly just been dealing with varying degrees of pain all the time due to a surgery I had three weeks ago (think it was three weeks ago) soooo...yeah...kinda feel like my life sucks, but whatever.

I actually sent a bunch of stuff basically to say why I believe what I believe/don't think the book of Mormon is right. Just pulling out scripture and all that.
Prayers would be much appreciated!
It'd be awesome if this could actually go somewhere, and I really don't want stuff to get ugly.
It won't get ugly, right?
I mean...I'm trying to keep things casual...but probably am kinda failing...
She didn't reply to my last message... *purses lips*

*glares at screen*
It's really interesting to...well, actually give a defense for why you believe what you believe.
15 But sanctify the Lord God[a] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
I've never actually really had to do that till now sooo...yeah *purses lips*

You are doing the right thing as you are giving her scriptures and whether she excepts these just now, at least you know that you have planted the seeds that may later lead her to Christ. xx
Yep, I agree with Evelyn. Just "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6
I can't promise you that things won't get ugly, but just remember that YOU can't change her religious view, only GOD can. You can plant the seeds by giving her powerful scripture, but if it seems like she is getting mad or doesn't want to talk to you. Drop it, let God work on her heart and just be a good friend. Non-Christians are always surprised when they meet a genuine christian who isn't going to beat them over the head with the bible. It really speaks to them that you can be a friend and not agree with the sin or religion in their life and still genuinely love and care about them.
That being said, sometimes it is really good to have to defend your faith. I would encourage you to research the Mormon religion, get to know the direct reason and point in which it doesn't match up with the bible. Also, ask her questions about what she believes. I've actually talked to a lot of Mormon girls on here as well, and I've found it interesting that somethings that the "Mormon church" say they didn't agree with. So get to know what she believes and always be ready with a biblical answer for things that you don't agree with.

And yeah, I know I can't save her. I am really just trying to plant seeds...I mean, I don't think she knows about Christianity/real truth exactly...
I don't know where things are going exactly, but she hasn't gotten mad or stopped talking to me yet.
My dad told me that Mormons will excommunicate each other/family members if they get saved/turn to a different belief system/religion so that they get kicked out of their homes and pretend they don't exist anymore.
...
That's really, really sad.
God will really have to knock on her heart if anything is really going to change/she sees the truth and really turns her life over to Christ.
Do you think you guys could pray for her?
I guess I'm feeling burdened about all this, cause of course I care about her and I don't want her to go to heaven/be saved and not go to hell...
Matthew 10:32-33
Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
And also I'm thinking of Matthew 10:34-39
Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
Hey ashley :) Ooh sounds fun! Yeah it can be really mind twisting to have these discussions and see how the other person thinks but try and be slow/probe how open she is to the mormonism v christianity debate. Honestly, most open-minded people who are willing to think through some arguments will definitely see how false the mormon bible is/the issues with mormon history. I had some experiences with that visiting Utah this summer, it was interesting to say the least!
I was reading devos the other day (my utmost for his highest...basically best devo ever written) and one line that hit me was that our purpose isn't to save people but to disciple them. We play a role in planting seeds but we never do the actual saving/bring them to God. (agreed with what elizabeth said (: ) I never used to understand that and would argue/debate people really hard because i wanted them to see the truth so bad. It just doesn't work that way. We have to be there to help them on the way but not try and pull them in one direction.
Praying for you though! It's a tough burden to carry-especially since its so important. I hope everything works out

yeah being able to keep a solid defense is always necessary :)

It really is sad. We have a Jehovah witness that visits us every month and he is such a nice guy. And while talking we discovered that in his religion most people aren't allowed to take communion. They only celebrate the day in the Jewish calendar when they think Jesus died, but still only certain people they believe are going to heaven are allowed to take communion. And we asked him why he thought he wasn't one of the "saved" and he said because God hadn't told him he was. Like God had told the "leaders." That is soooo sad!

I guess a big part of me wants to just keep going on with everything cause I've never gotten the chance to share my faith to an unbeliever before (or maybe I've had the chance kinda with unsaved family members but just never took it if there was one...) and it's really exciting being able to actually do so!
But I'm kinda thinking I should kinda just let things end for now and see what happens *shrug* As long as I planted some seeds. Hopefully God will work on her heart/take the blinders off.
Yeah, I know it's awesome to share your faith.
Maybe you'll strike up the conversation later on though.

This article just popped up on my Facebook, thought you might be interested https://answersingenesis.org/world-re...

don't push it :) one lesson i learned was when my non christian friends wanted to talk about other things and i didn't get the hint. It's really important but it doesn't have to be the only thing to have good conversations about.

The conversation is actually still going on, and everything honestly seems fine. I mean, she doesn't seem to be turning cold, getting angry, and she hasn't stopped talking to me about things.
And yeah, that article definitely interests me! I read it, and it kinda gave me some encouragement :)
And yeah Caro, I'll try not to push things.
I can't even believe some of the stuff Mormons believe.
I mean...literally can't believe...but also in the expression sense of that...argh, you guys know what I mean right?!
It's soooo crazy!!!! People are just so blind...I can't believe how many people this 'religion' has deceived...
Or I guess how many people Satan has deceived is the better way to put it :/
My mind kinda feels like fudge considering it all.
It would be brilliant to have someone to read with, it would definitely help :-)
