So I am at chapter 9

(view spoiler)[ So at first I really liked Alessandra and I thought of her as a badass queen but she is kind of annoying to be honest. She is a little b*tchy. Hopefully its a phase and she changes. Having said that I am GLAD the annoying 'not like other girls' trope is NOT used. PHEW. Kallius is pretty cool too. I wonder what the shadows are all about?!? (hide spoiler)]

The book has a gripping plot and sub plot and I am really enjoying how it started off. Very glad I picked up this book to get me out of my slump

Chapter 9
(view spoiler)[Woooow, I feel this was what I needed after one extremely slow book. I'm unbelievable intrigued by this book. Castle, kings, balls... it sounds (and feels!) so dazzling. And I like how chemistry works, it's not too obvious that they're propably going to be lovers. And this sudden twist with Myrion blackmailing her, I love how she is going to find some way out (hide spoiler)]

Honestly this is such a light read I am glad. I have been in a slump for 2 months not enjoying anything.

Sorry. The paint came in Saturday and I've been none stop painting the house from sun up to down! Wish I had gotten it on audio! Oh, well.

I have finished 11 chapters. I had some other book that I had to finish yesterday :) I'm still enjoying this one

(view spoiler)[This was extremely easy & entertaining to read. I loved mostly all that scheming and was a bit disappointed when there wasn't so much of it. All things solved so easyly at the end. But I was surprised that his brother was actually still alive :D And I never understood why she was so hateful toward her family. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Honestly I agree. It was light and fun, but at the same time the important details were less and everything happened quickly.
The brother hated his dad definitely because his dad beat him for not being born with the shadow power like all kings. And the advisor found him half dead on the side of the road. The brother thought his mom was part of this so he hated her too. Although he had no reason to hate kallius as kallius was a kid at that time and did not do anything wrong (hide spoiler)]
