April,
Since you nominated this book, would you be interested in being the discussion leader, even though other books were nominated? All you would have to do is just encourage discussions and keep them going. Overall, it's a very loose "job."
If you are interested, just let me know! If you are not interested, that's fine; just let me know!
Thanks!

I love this book!!! It's the best heist novel I read until now. Here is my whole review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I recently read this book and then the beginning of Crooked Kingdom. (I had to dnf it but will come back to it) Here’s my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mary wrote: "I absolutely love this book! I haven’t read a book that lives up to the hype in so long ✨😩"ABSOLUTELY! I was scared that I was going to be disappointed by it but it's truly *author's kiss* Who's your favorite Crow?
Saraf wrote: "I love this book!!! It's the best heist novel I read until now. Here is my whole review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..."Your review looks amazing! I agree, it's awesome. Definitely one of my favorites!! Do you prefer Six of Crows or Crooked Kingdom?
Kirsi wrote: "I just finished this book and thought it was an absolute blast. So. Much. Fun. To. Read."Right?! It's a wild ride! What was your favorite part?

I've seen your updates about Crooked Kingdom and it's definitely a more difficult book to power through. Let me know if you ever continue! I know it's nearly impossible, but which character do you love the most?
Emary wrote: "I love Nina! She’s really fun and…funny. She’s a feminist, and I love that about her."YES! Nina is a queen. I love her so much too! :) <3 I believe she even appears in another of Leigh's series (Rule of Wolves)...Have you read Shadow & Bone before?

I don’t know about Emary, but I haven’t yet! But it in my tbr!
Would you recommend it? What about the other series, I think Rule of wolves?

I finally finished the first book of the Shadow and Bone trilogy (it took me a long time because I was also using it for a school assignment, and now I'm *patiently* waiting - at least I hope I am - for Siege and Storm :) I've heard so many amazing things about SoC, and I can't wait to read it!

I haven’t read Shadow and Bone yet, but I want to! I know Netflix made a series, but i don’t know if it’s any good.

Yes! It's amazing; definitely my favorite book (although I might like its sequel a tiny bit better). I have yet to to read Rule of Wolves, but there is a chronological order to read Leigh's series in! You should read Shadow & Bone first, Six of Crows second, and the King of Scars duology last. They're all set in the same world, but after each other chronologically! :)

It was Leigh Bardugo's debut series, so she has definitely improved over time. I think the show is great! If you like fantasy TV shows, I'd recommend checking it out.

I unfortunately didn’t know that when I read SoC, so I read out of order. That being said, I do want to go back and read Shadow and Bone before I read any other of Leigh’s books.

I liked it, but something that didn't quite add up for me was the fact that Alina's transition into her new life was quite smooth (almost too smooth); the only part of her old life that she mentioned and missed was Mal, and I guess I kind of wanted to know more about what it was like for her before her life changed so drastically. Also, I felt like the Darkling's character was very well-written, because I subconsciously knew what he really was - but I still fell for the character that Bardugo portrayed him as in the first half of the book. I had so many mixed feelings about him (I liked his character, I loathed him, I wasn't sure which version of him I should focus on, etc). Shadow and Bone didn't quite live up to the hype I've heard over Leigh Bardugo's books. However, I know it's her debut novel, like you said, so she still has plenty of opportunities to blow our minds and drive us book nerds insane :') With all that said, I would still give it a solid 4 stars.
*I tried to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, and everything I mentioned is just my opinion - I didn't actually mention anything specific that happened in the book*

Yes, that definitely makes sense! I got impatient and read the Six of Crows duology before finished the complete Shadow & Bone series as well, so I got a few spoilers...but I'd love to finish Ruin & Rising before starting her new series too!

I absolutely agree with everything in your review! It was as if Alina had suddenly taken on this perfect life; the only thing she ever wondered and longed for from back home was Mal, and even that fell flat at times. Ooh, the Darkling is definitely very well-written. Personally, I don't see his appeal (is it just because people like Ben Barnes?), but Leigh wrote his character well enough for his two sides to be apparent. Mhm! Shadow & Bone isn't as good as fans might suggest, but it's decent nevertheless. (And Six of Crows is SO much better. ;))
