Cheryl Olson (girlsmama) | 694 comments Ok, for this month we are learning something new.

For you non-fiction readers it could be a self-help book, a bible study, history, art, cooking book, arts and crafts, home dec, etc.

For fiction readers- I'll allow any book where your character learns something new- could be a trade, something about themselves, about God. I'll let your creativity take flight on this one.

1-2- just a few

3-4- learning more

5-6- learning new tricks

7-8- learning is great

9-10+- Learning again!

Here is your tracker-https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/...

- good luck!

#1 Under the Bayou Moon by Valerie Fraser Luesse Learned about Cajuns (French Canadians) in Louisiana just after WWII.

#2 Endurance Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing Learned about this ship voyage that didn't go according to plan.

#3 Dreams of Savannah by Roseanna M. White I don't recall learning before about using ships as a part of the Civil War. I definitely don't think I'd heart about Confederates putting rocks in the water to cause problems for Union ships.

Carissa | 479 comments 1.The Cajuns: Americanization of a People by Shane K. Bernard after reading Under the Bayou Moon and being shocked by some of what I read I wanted to learn more about Cajuns or Acadians. And I did learn that some of what happened in Under a Bayou Moon did indeed happen.

Bonny (bonnybonnybeth) | 667 comments I did a dismal job on this challenge last month! Usually, I read a lot of non-fiction, but in September I was so busy WRITING non-fiction, LOL, that I didn't have time to READ non-fiction! However, I did finish two children's non-fiction books:
1) Mr. Peale's Amazing Museum by Terry Simon
2) Daniel Boone Woodsman of Kentucky by John Paul Zronik

I also read a book where the main characters learn about a FICTIONAL world:
3) Dinotopia A Land Apart from Time by James Gurney
