I am new to this group but have been using Goodreads for several years. I am an aspiring author and still working on my first book, a memoir. I am an avid reader and reviewer. I have an open mind and do my best to let Romans 14:19 guide my reviews; "So let's agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other. Help others with encouraging words; don't drag them down by finding fault." My inspiration to write is my son. I am a white star momma and keeping his memory alive gives me purpose. Connie Neal wrote, "When you appreciate yourself in all your uniqueness, you will dare to hold your life up to the light. You will dare to live out the beauty you were created to express. You will keep your life cleaned and polished with the forgiveness of God." Since my son went to Heaven it has been difficult to remember to live the beauty I was created to express, yet I will not let my sadness take hold, I will honor my son and allow God to guide me into the future. I am excited to be part of this group. Thank you for the invitation.

I’m very sorry for the loss of your son! May God bring you comfort and peace as you live to honor your son’s memory and as you bring glory to God!! God bless and keep you is my prayer! Welcome to the group!
Elizabeth,
My heart breaks for you. I served in the U.S. Army for over 25 years as a chaplain. Much of my ministry was focused on grief an loss. My wife and I just said a prayer for you. I applaud you for keeping you son's memory alive. May God bless you.
