(view spoiler)[ GREY WTF (SORRY FOR SWEARING) BUT WTF. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Also umm Hawk?? That is the most ridiculous name istg. Who chooses a name hawk??? Anyway, main point, so I like Rhen ofc and Harper though I feel they have very short and very few chapters. Grey is clearly lost all sense of who he is. I mean he spent like 300 seasons being loyal to Rhen even though he didn't need to and could've left and now suddenly he feels threatened by Rhen and does not want to go back? How come he suddenly lost all sense of loyalty to Rhen? I know he forswore an oath and is no longer bound to Rhen but like,, excuse me??? How did he chnage 180 degrees? The old grey would've gone back to Rhen and explained everything to him and they might've discussed the whole crown situation too (hide spoiler)]

I like her, but I want her to do more interesting things because right now she is mostly narrating stuff right. Kinda mad Rhen locked her up but can you blame him? Karis Luran is not to be trusted. (view spoiler)[ Grey does not feel threatened by Rhen. He's just trying to protect him. If people don't come to know the Grey is the heir, Rhen does not need to either give up the throne or kill him. If the heir is not discovered, they might just be abke to get away with it till Rhen is crowned.

I know,.. Lia does seem a bit boring... Maybe because we're so used to having and expecting fierce but righteous female protagonists that that is what we expect and like...

Also, Lia Mara is clever. She's observant, she thinks, and she knows how to draw her conclusions. That's her speciality.

I felt the exact same way. I hated the way author just flipped every character 180 degree and I could hardly care about Lia Mara. I was just mad how everything went from ACSDL to this. Nothing was making sense anymore. So true Rida. Why did she have to make Rhen the villain? It just broke my heart. My average rating is five stars, I've only wanted to dnf one book, but I am going to read it sometime soon though. I really hope this book doesn't destroy my love for the first book, if it goes downhill from the middle, I just want it to let me down... slowly.

If you don't like Lia Mara as a character stay away from book three!! Also if you are mad at the author for her writing stay away from book three!! I wish I hadn't read book two and three.

Oh no! And here I thought that book three was a breath of fresh air. Apparently, the only good book in the series was the first one, the original is better than the sequel most of the time.

Sorry I generally avoid telling people not to read a book but these sequels just destroyed my love of the world and characters created in book one. I also got mad at the author for telling me that a character was 'strong' without any thoughts, dialog or actions to back it up. There's much more I could rant about.

Oh well, but when I start a series, I make a commitment to finish it, so I guess that I will suffer the pain of the rest of the series then.
