At first it sounded like Jason found out about the drugs and was killed for it. Then it turned out Potrero didn't know anything about the murder. I went back and forth trying to figure out if the two cases were connected. The only connection I could see at first was the fact that Lindy's home and clubhouse were on the other side of the school wall. I thought Lindy had seen something over the wall (maybe a body being buried) since she spied on everyone and was blackmailing that person who eventually killed her. I didn't know how Jason was tied into it unless he found someone removing the body from the grave.
I didn't think the cases were connected at all until somewhere around 50 or 60 percent in. At that point it seemed like too many people were coming out of the woodwork confusing Max's work on Jason's case to her working on Lindy's. It made me think that she was accidentally pushing buttons and that could only happen if there was a connection.
Like Robin, I thought Jason’s case was all about that marijuana operation. I’m not sure when it started to dawn on me that his death was related to Lindy’s case.
That’s a great point, Sharon, about her pushing buttons that triggered stuff related to Lindy’s case. It wasn’t until they introduced Carrie Voss and her “absence” that I started to think Caitlin might have done her in. Remember, I pegged Caitlin as Lindy’s killer by Chapter 3.

I started to think they were all connected when we found out how close to Lindy's property the holes he was worried about were.
I had trouble with "the holes in the trees". I was literally thinking there were holes in the trees, not holes in the ground around the trees. I thought they were hiding places for drugs and such. After I got to the holes in the ground around the trees, I thought Lindy had seen someone bury a body and that was why she was killed.
Thanks for bringing that point up, Anita. I thought the same thing and felt silly later when I realized it was not literal.
