William is weak. Yes, he is very much like his father. I don't know why he married Caitlin to begin with. He was cheating on her regularly. I think he will eventually forgive Max for turning in Caitlin. After all, Caitlin was going to let him take the fall for both Lindy and Carrie.
Personally, I don't think William ever loved Caitlin. He was in love with the idea of being in love. There is no way he is going to be loyal to his wife. He wasn't loyal to her when they lived together. When she is in jail he will divorce her. He won't blame Max. Once he has separated from Caitlin, he is going to grateful that Max got him out of a terrible marriage.

William is about as weak as they come. I also don’t believe he ever loved Caitlin. She was convenient and it was time for him to have a wife and start a family. Whether he divorces her depends on how the winds are blowing. They may work hard to get her institutionalized in a mental health facility. Then he can sleep around as much as he wants and get society’s sympathy.
I don’t think he’ll forgive Max. She disordered his “tidy” life.
William will not handle Caitlin's incarceration well. He loves his boys, but she did everything for them. He's probably have Minnie move in or find another young thing to help out. I'm still up in the air on whether he'll forgive Max or not.

William is a sad excuse for a man. He was rich, handsome and personable. He could have had any woman he wanted and he did, often. Why he married Caitlin, I have no idea. She probably just wore him down.I think eventually he will wise up and realize what Caitlin did to him and forgive Max.
