I didn't see how she was going to get both mysteries solved before the end of the week. It was a lot for one person.
I never felt that Max was overwhelmed or pushed to her limit. When she latched onto the fact that Kevin killed himself, that investigation took a backseat. Her focus was on Jason. It wasn't until so many people were hounding her about Lindy and Kevin that she got serious. I thought if so many people were afraid about what Max would find, there must be something out there.
I do think it was risky not to have her security, but then again, David needed his time with his daughter. I understand why she didn't want to get in their way.
I thought she could manage it all as she’s more than capable. However, I believed her safety was at risk and she needed protection, especially after what happened to Dru and it became obvious someone was following her. Max isn't reckless but she takes enormous risks.
I feel like this is the Max we are always going to see. She goes a mile a minute and doesn't stop. I think she thrives having so much on her plate. The author made it very easy to keep everything straight.
I agree. I do think David is going to be her sounding board and make himself available if she isn't careful.
She wasted no time at all pissing off everyone. I think her family were a bunch of ostriches who just wanted to bury their heads in the sand and will any bad publicity away. They really did not like Max coming home for Kevin's funeral. She never meant to take on Lindy's case and I found that strange. This is what Max does, why she didn't want to lay Lindy's case to rest, I couldn't understand.Kevin, Jason, Lindy - it was a lot for her to take on. I was kinda expecting David to send a retired Marine to protect and support her.
I thought that too, for a bit. He has so little time with his daughter, I think he wanted to believe Max that she was OK on her own.
It's oblivious that Max shouldn't be allowed to be out and about without a keeper. She attracts to much trouble.
