I thought Max was wrong and she would eventually conclude that he was murdered. I think I actually believed it when she found the letter at the storage shed and he more or less said he was dying. I figured he decided to end it early.
I didn't believe he killed himself. It seemed to convenient until we found out Kevin was dying. It made sense that he helped fate along so Max would clear his name and find out the real murderer.
I don't think I ever really doubted it with his history of depression, alcohol and drugs. Also, he told his sister to call Max right before he did it. He knew his death would bring her home.
I believed at first that he had been murdered. I was less sure when she found his letter in her book with the note and postscript. then, for sure when she found his letter in the storage unit. I was so sad that he thought that his death was the only way Max would come home and look deeper into Lindy's death.
That made me sad too Anita. It made me a little angry with Max that she ignored his plea for help for so long. She jumps at the chance to help strangers, but an old friend she ignored.
