Max’s relationship with FBI Agent Marco Lopez…is it history? Why or why not?

[Robin]

It sounds like they have a on-again, off-again relationship. I wouldn't be surprised if he is back in the picture in this series.

[Sharon]

It sounds like Marco wants to be the "guy" in there relationship. He looks at her career as a pastime until she settles down and takes care of their family. I can't see Max ever happy in a relationship where she isn't an equal including her career. Also, I'm not sure she is a person who wants to be a mother.

[Jonetta]

I think this one is history for all the reasons you state, Sharon. But, as Robin says, it’s on again, off again and she may just treat it as just that with no commitment. Definitely not an ongoing relationship.

[Robin]

I don't think Max is looking for a relationship. She doesn't want to have to answer to anyone about her time or her job. A relationship has to have people giving and taking on both sides. I don't think she is ready for that. Max just wants a fun time with no commitment.

[Jonetta]

I think you’re right, Robin. She hasn’t met “the one” yet.

[Melissa]

I think we'll see the on/off relationship continue.
I totally agree, Robin.

[Anita]

With all the cases she has had and all the people she has interacted with, I felt that there should have been 2 or 3 other books before this one. That said, Max has a lot of issues she needs to resolve before she can be an equal in a committed relationship.

[Jonetta]

We did seem to drop in the middle of stuff. But, both books so far have dealt with history so maybe we will get those blanks filled.

[Anita]

It looks like we will get Max's history a bit at a time throughout the series.
