Valerie | 280 comments I just finished this trilogy, and was very happy with the books. I loved how the characters were developed, and the plot was complicated enough that I could follow, but not too complicated that I had to take notes.

It was a fast read. I finished all three books in less than three days, but it was an enjoyable time spent. I am very particular about endings, and was quite satisfied with how she wrapped everything up, even ending on particular question with a simple sentence that spoke volumes.

Granted, there was one or two technical issues that I might have found fault with, but in all, the suspension of disbelief was enough to let me jump into the premise of a time travel gene, and a mystery that would be revealed once all blood samples from the twelve were collected.

These books were translated from German, so it could also fall into that category, and I have noticed that in another country, the original book was made into a film...so, it could also go with that prompt.

I will say, that I would recommend having all three books available to read. Although the author does a good job of summing up what happened in the previous books, the second book especially ends on a cliff hanger, and you would want to delve into the next one right away.

I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice trilogy. (Especially if you have already read many of the other popular ones, and some of the trilogies that had begun as three books, suddenly turned into more than three!).

I gave all five books together five stars, though the second, had I been reading it alone, I would have given only four because of the way it ended. But, since I did do them back to back...I will give them all the highest rating.
