Here are the signs of a book nerd:
📚You have a minimum of 5 books on your night table.
📚You never thought once the movie was better.
📚Your favorite mug says “I’d rather be reading”.
📚You use words like librocubicularist in a casual conversation
(though no conversation about books is ever “casual”)
📚You wear a T-shirt that says- what else?- “Too many books, too little time”.
📚You buy many gifts for everyone, but they don’t know which ones to buy for you.
📚You panic if you discover you’ve left the house without something to read.
📚You pack twice as many books when going on a vacation or holiday because you’re afraid of running out.
📚You keep nagging people about how good the book you just finished is.
📚 You wish you could just stay home and curl up with your book instead of going out to a social gathering.
📚 How choosing which books to pack on vacation is harder than choosing your outfits. You end up with a very heavy suitcase.
📚 It’s extremely frustrating when libraries have limits on how many books you can check out at once.
📚 You have a shelf full of dozens of books you haven’t read even though you are ALWAYS reading.
📚 You being in a reading slump after finishing the best series you’ve ever read.
You keep quoting books regularly.

If you’ve got any good ideas, comment here and if it’s good enough then I’ll put it here.😊

Hailey (hva333) When someone asks you to recommend a book, you give them your infinite TBR

Mary-Therese P. When you bring a book, even though you will in no way have time to read it, lol

Caroline (chronicbibliophile) When someone asks you where you are/what happened/how you liked the last book you read and you rant for 10+ minutes about love triangles and death and other random parts

I can so relate to that! When I'm going places, I bring my book along and even though I don't have time to read it, I just like having it with me, it's comforting.

Samantha (elizabethdarcy2594) | 181 comments 100% with some of these. I always pack at least two books when I go out of town. And I try to be sure they're a bit longer so they don't end too quickly and leave me bookless (have a phone now though so ebooks will prevent full stranding)

Caroline (chronicbibliophile) RELATABLE

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

and even though you packed books for the trip you end up buying more books anyways

You constantly say " I don't even have that many books" when you know full well that you have have over 100 across 7 different shelves around your room

You go into Ur local bookshop so often that Ur basically besties with the cashier (I've been in there alot and this one guy literally recognised me)

I went mini golfing yesterday and halfway through I thought "I can't wait to go home and read"

Obviously the movies are worse. I like watching the movie first if I'm going to, coz then it doesn't ruin the book for me coz its be better - and if I read it first and watch the bad movie, it'd ruin the goodness of the book

You guys only pack two books going on holiday? I had 100 pages of a book left (we were going out for dinner) and I bought two.

I have like 160 books and I have 6 to read. So half a dozen

YES. No sane person buys one book, reads it, then buys another lol

Amanda (amandalcs) | 30 comments I could literally spend ALL my money on books! Going to a bookstore seriously challenges my self-control.
I went tonight to see Christopher Moore (one of my favorite authors) and I left the bookstore with ten books…I’m seriously addicted. I also love the smell of a used bookstore. I always feel like I’m hunting for treasure when I’m there. Books are my happy place!
