It is a great series. I highly recommend it.
It has a least 4 books in the series and each book had a different main character. Everyone in the world has a talent or a knack for something. Like one guy is an empath or a telepath, one can heal, one noble woman can control fire.
One of the latter books had a major plot point where the empath/telepath and a noble (princess?? maybe?) woman want to get married but can't because he's not a noble so they brand him with with the crest of a noble family and the healer healing it so it looked super old (that's how they identified nobles, branded at birth and always wore a necklace that covered it. Pretty sure that it was a point of pride or something that you could walk around and the necklace wouldn't move to reveal the brand).
Does anyone have an idea what series this could be? I'm pretty sure the setting was like medieval fantasy.
