“How have you been?” Asked Mari.

“Tired. Uncle was pretty grouchy still about the breach.” Kayleigh said and shrugged.
“Eek,” said Ash. Sitting Mari’s bed with her twin.
"Mhm. He is still looking for Vanessa..." Kayleigh said
"Speaking of which, what happened?" Kayleigh asked.
“With what?” Said the two twins together.
"Back there. Vanessa and Izzy were mad..." Kayleigh said.
“Oh, one of Izzy’s friends, Mara, laughed at us and made us feel bad so we went to our dorm. Then this girl knocked on the door, then she ran away when she saw us. And, this girl was under our bed. Then our sister got really mad when we out the fox girl out of our room.”
"Okay... Um. That girl that ran away? That's Imogen Cartiana, another one of our cousins. Tokidoki Sato is a new girl who is notoriously scared and a mer-fox. And your sisters plus Mara? They are really kind, actually." Kayleigh said.

“That girl is our cousin? I didn’t recognize her. And she didn’t recognize us. Also, Mara isn’t nice to us at least. She laughed at us.” “I’m going on a walk,” said Mari and left the dorm room.
"Give Mara time. Imogen was scared so she didn't know you." Kayleigh said.
Kayleigh came over and hugged her.
Ash started crying softly and hugged her back. Harder.
Kayleigh held her cousin close. “Shhh it’s okay. Everything is okay.” Kayleigh murmured.
“Is it though?” Said Ash quietly.
Kayleigh hugged her cousin, wrapping her soft red wings around them.
Ash pulled back and wiped her eyes. “Will Lizzy and Vene forgive me?”
“I don’t know.” Kayleigh said.
Ruby flew in and landed on Ash’s shoulder
“Ruby! You little winged devil! I’ve missed you!” Ash said. She smiled and held her hand out with a bit of birdseed.
Ruby ate the birdseed and cawed cheerfully.
“I need some sleep,” said Ash. She flopped onto her bed and soon she was fast asleep.
Kayleigh patted her cousin’s head.
