I’m in Beth’s boat (you know us do well, Allison)! I have just over 1000 books unread in various formats. A few years ago I made a pledge that I was going to actually prioritize reading the books I own and I didn’t do half bad until I join this group! I still have a subscription to Audible so I use that on books that I can’t get from the library, but I’m only reading about 50% previously owned books (and I count anything I bought longer than a year ago). I might buy/acquire the same number of books in a year though. No, maybe not, so theoretically I should be whittling it down.
There’s a website that will calculate how many years it take to read your books provided you never buy another (impossible) and ONLY read those you already own (what no library books either?!?).
Oops, sorry, I guess that link no longer goes to the calculator and it appears not to exist anymore. Anyway, it told me that it would take 13 years 6 months at my rate of reading. I know what I’ll do when I retire.
