Lisa Lagaly | 8 comments Hi
I'm looking for someone to share my books with. Someone who is also looking for a big-picture beta reader, perhaps for the long haul (I mean of our writing careers). I've tried a couple of message boards but there are so many people and everyone is always in a rush to do their stuff that it doesn't seem like you can get to know anyone. I like fantasy and adventure, nothing too serious or scary or sexy, although a little romance is fine. I want someone who's supportive but not afraid to tell me something doesn't work. I'm a big picture reader so I don't expect anything in depth. Basically, if I can't put the book down, you've got a winner. Oh, and I'll point out plot problems. I do not have a degree in writing, but I am a scientist, so I'm not completely inept. I have a couple of books up on wattpad if you want to take a look. I was intrigued by all the werewolf stories that kept popping up on facebook so I wrote one to see if it got more attention than my other stories - it did. (https://www.wattpad.com/story/2664814...). I think my other stories are a lot more interesting though. I'm working on a shifter series but instead of a dragon or a wolf or what-not - he shifts into a dinosaur. It would take place about the 1600s if it were on Earth. I'm wondering if the first book is a little slow, but things do get more exciting, at least in my opinion. https://www.wattpad.com/story/2731825.... My next series is a space adventure. Yeah, I jump all over the place.
So, take a look, if you can stand my writing, send me a sample of yours and we'll see what happens.

Hi Lisa,
Would you be willing to exchange a few chapters to critique and see if we are a good fit?

Kate Chenli | 7 comments Hi Lisa, I write fantasy. Are you interested in swapping the first few chapters to see if we are a good fit? If so, please PM me.

Kate

Ray Damin | 30 comments Hello! I’d be willing to swap some chapters as well for the long haul! Message me and we can see if we can make something work! Thanks!

Wes Hubert | 72 comments Hi Lisa. I write mostly scifi and have a book ready for betas. It is 98 K, hard scifi, the second in a series. I think we may be a good fit. I like the big picture and speculating on the progression of technology and humanity. If you want, we can exchange a chapter to see if we are a fit.

Adam | 1 comments Hi Lisa I would also be interested in sharing work with you, or anyone else on here, if you've found a writing buddy.

I mostly write tongue in cheek fantasy set in this world. My latest story is about a Celtic god who finds out his home in the Dartmoor forest is about to be knocked down and created into a Centre Parks.
He then embarks on a journey to stop his from happening.

I read your stories and enjoyed them. I believe I'd be able to help you improve as a writer, and hopefully shine a light on what is working and not, and trust you could do the same for me.

If you're interested, let me know. Also, if anyone else wants to give it a try, please get in contact.

Lisa –
I'd be happy to be a reading/writing friend with you.
I’ve never been a big admirer of fantasy, but I read through your “Beastly Prince” up to the map, and for some reason I was captivated. I immediately fell in love with Ella so I definitely like your writing. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a terrific read. I do have some observations, but I’ll save them for a more direct communication.
When I came across your Goodreads message, I was writing a message of my own with a purpose similar to yours. I’m looking for Accountability Partners: other writers who help me stay on track to complete writing projects, and for whom I do the same.
I write science fiction of a sort, tending toward action/adventure rather than hard sci-fi. If you’re interested, you can access all three of my current books (Peacemaker 2564, Teleportal, Teleportal: Damage Control) on Amazon. “Look Inside” will give you a taste of each. For a complete book I’ve placed a PDF copy of Teleportal in my Drop Box (https://www.dropbox.com/s/6tnog9q28ct...). It explains (to an extent) the teleportal concept I follow.

Naina Perumal | 5 comments Hi Lisa,
I'm interested in, and rather good at critiquing short stories. I've posted my own critique partner request in this forum at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... If you'd like to exchange a few thousand words for starters email me at perumal.n997@gmail.com.
All the best,
Naina Perumal
