Ruth FutureCycle Press has accepted my book, What’s Left Over. It covers what poet Joan Colby called “a poignant journey to the borders of a long marriage.” Thanks go to Dianne Kistner, who’s a pleasure to work with. This will be my 3rd book with FutureCycle.

Here’s a sample poem. It was published previously in Atticus Review.

Love in Our Eighth and Ninth Decades

It’s like lifting a violin out of its case,
a trick of the light that drives the music.
We give ourselves to those well-known melodies
as if our bodies were as they were before,
and our hearts slide into the world of sheer delight
where we tangle ourselves
in every way we’re still able,
glut our mad old eyes with each other,
until everything is reduced to a single light.
Our skin glistered in sweat,
we can be beautiful again.
