We get a brief description of Max Revere before she leaves for Colorado Springs. Did your initial impression of her change by the end of the story? If so, how?

[Anita]

My initial impression was that she was a bit of a snob, selfish and doing her own thing because she can. I came to respect her and see that her life hasn't been easy losing two of her best friends the way she did. Growing up in a dysfunctional family is tough too.

[Sharon]

I didn't think she was a snob as I thought she was searching and not sure what to do with herself. As the story progressed, I felt she was feeling guilty which made her stand-offish. I respect her too.

[Jonetta]

I didn’t think she was snobby, more self confident and sure of who she is. I loved her independence. By the end of the story, I realized she was less self assured, more driven by her past than I’d first thought. I still liked her but saw her as less controlled.
