Tenet is a 2020 thriller directed by Christopher Nolan. It was released shortly after the pandemic's lockdown and stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki. The film follows John David Washington as a secret agent being recruited by a secret organization trying to stop ww3 from happening. John David Washington with the help of a friend Neil (Robert Pattinson) must try to stop this threat with the ability to manipulate time.
This movie can get confusing with it's plot as it taps into a lot of theories within physics. The cast is great as John David Washington and Robert Pattinson give amazing performances. The plot can be hard to follow but is extremely creative once you start to follow and understand how it flows as the pacing mimics the themes of reversing and manipulating time. The soundtrack from Ludwig Goransson is amazing and perfectly reflects the themes of the movie and adds more tension to each scene. The special effects is extremely theatrical as there is a lot of expensive and ambitious scenes that use real effects like the crashing plane scene. The camera work and editing is also great as just like the pacing and soundtrack, it follows the themes of time manipulation and there is a lot of great shots and reversed movement of characters, objects and even the camera.
I rate this movie a 4 stars as it very creatively uses it's plot, effects, acting, and editing to show different ways of manipulating time.
