Okay. :) I'll read more tonight.

Mariana | 2692 comments I am through chapter 13 and have read through all the comments and spoilers noted on or before where I'm at (seems something might happen in chapter 15 - saw a couple spoilers noted for it). There were lots of great thoughts I agree with. Margot is childish. Her family treats her like chattel. Arran acts like an asshole but secretly cares.

This is a story of nature versus nuture. These two were always physically attracted to each other, but they were raised with such different cultures. Their communication is more challenging than the usual Men Are from Mars Women Are from Venus.

How old is Arran BTW? While leading his men in the clan, he seems older. However, based on his knowledge of a wife, he seems almost as young as she was. Also, we get a lot more background and family life for Margot than for Arran. When and how did his father pass away to make him Laird? Was his mother in the picture at all? I know almost nothing about him other than the very slight glimpse into his feelings recently disclosed.

The story is a little slower than many I have read, but it is okay. I liked the history lesson and the intrigue. I'm just a little annoyed by both the H and h.

As someone mentioned, I do think Jock and Margot's lady's maid would make a good match.

Shannon | 348 comments Really beginning to enjoy this one. It has taken me a while to get into it, but I think that's on me. I've been watching my grandkids a lot lately and reading time has looked more like sleepy time. I'm in the middle of chapter 12. I have a feeling these two are going to be dynamic if for no other reason than they both are quite set. Don't know if I'm in the minority at this point, but I like Arran. I think I see his potential, and I do favor an alpha male.

Great pick!

Whole Book Spoilers ahead:
Knox was a worthy hero. The guy surely deserves his own book with a HEA.

Up until alm..."

Agreed. I felt the same way. This book ran me thru the game of emotions! I was wore out by the time this book was over.

Girl I been there! When I go visit the kids it takes me a week to finish one book. When I'm home I finish a book in just a couple of days.
