This part of the book is a very good introduction to the Philosophy of History, as regards what happened in Western Europe in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. In fact, this is a good summary of the corresponding part of the book Europe and the Faith, which we discussed in the club on October 2020. Please write here the ideas that this introduction makes arise in you.

In my opinion This is One of the best introductions that i have ever Read in my Life It should be of forced reading at the schools, and the universities.

This introduction, more than most, seems to provide a broad historical backdrop against which to see each of the detailed biographical sketches Belloc is going to provide. It is, in effect, a map of the history he intends to present.

It is a Big summary of the book and something more... I would say a good moral introduction of the History.
