The Duke and I by Julia Quinn – 3 Stars (Rounded up)

I probably would not have read this book if not for the Tag this month, but I thought I would read the book before watching the Netflix show. I have conflicting views of the book. On the positive side, I felt the main characters were generally well-developed, and I really liked the members of the Bridgerton family. I also liked Wistledown, and would love to know who the writer is. Unfortunately, there was very little plot, and the dialogue seemed very repetitive and over-the-top. The whole idea of the “I can’t have children” bit was also overdone, and the actions that Daphne took because of this completely ruined her character in my eyes. I also feel it was very unrealistic! Whilst I am going to watch the Netflix series to see if that is better, and because I must be one of the very few people who hasn’t seen it, I doubt I will read any more of the books in this series.
