I usually read at night, but might sneak in a few minutes in the daytime today. This book sounds great

I jumpstarted on it already and almost 44% into the book. It starts out with a bang in the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down! lol

Omg!!! Only 9 percent but hooked. That first chapter hooked me! The second one was even better. I have a feeling this week be one of the best Cross books

The beginning was really interesting and I didn't realize that (view spoiler)[pigs ate people! lol (hide spoiler)] The family doesn't seem to be (view spoiler)[cannibalistic except of course the pigs (hide spoiler)] The story is gripping and hard to put down!

I didn't get a chance to read last night. I'm only at 24 percent, but when I was reading, it was hard to stop. I knew pigs did that, but I'm not sure what the purpose is yet for their special diet. For what reason would you feed them that instead of normal food? (view spoiler)[ It didn't seem like the dad enjoyed killing the people because he threw them into the pig pin while they were still alive. There has to be another reason (hide spoiler)]

Well not sure what the reason would be but so far it is one of the few unanswered questions I have so far in this book! LOL :)

Yes we do Marie. 47percent (sorry if I'm further than other readers) (view spoiler)[ I was loving this story. Then I feel like it changed when part 2 started.. Don't get me wrong, I want to hear Penny's story, but the part where dude is telling her they won't find the farmhouse. Is this taking a supernatural turn? Is the house in another realm? I was loving it when I thought it was realistic. Not sure how I feel about it now. And I feel like I missed something somewhere. I thought I read in the beginning they had 3 sons. I've only heard Edna mention 1 brother, and that's all the other survivor (in the mental hospital) mentioned. Was I wrong thinking they had 3 sons in the beginning? (hide spoiler)]

No - you are not wrong, Sea. This book has some unanswered questions and I couldn't figure that out either. In the prologue the mother states this: (view spoiler)[We already have three boys (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[So yeah I was confused later of what happened to the other two sons. Like you said only one is mentioned later so what happened to the other two? Maybe they died but that is not explained anywhere in the story. Also what is not explained in the story is what happened exactly to the mother? She must have died at some point but it isn't in the story. The only mention of the mother is in the prologue.

As far as the supernatural element with the farm house not being found - yeah I was wondering the same thing as if the place is being combed with searchers where the heck is the place? (hide spoiler)]

There is always questions when we read these books by Cross - whether we will get answers remains to be seen. lol

I read some more during the night as my insomnia was kicking in. I am really wondering what is happening with the (view spoiler)[farm being elusive (hide spoiler)]

Also another interesting twist which I forgot to add in my wonderings in the last post is this (view spoiler)[In the beginning of the story where Pete and Penny have the car accident and Edna feeds Pete to the pigs - nothing is ever mentioned to Penny that Pete was killed on the farm - Edna doesn't tell her and it seems Penny still doesn't know that Pete was killed off because she is still thinking he is alive somewhere on the farm as all she wants to do is get back somehow to the farm so she can find her husband and baby (hide spoiler)] None of it makes any sense.

It is a great story but I wish (view spoiler)[ that Cross would elaborate more on tying up loose ends within the story as it leaves too many unanswered questions and confusion. (hide spoiler)]
