I read Snowflakes at the little Christmas tree farm for this month. It's a romantic and Christmassy story, though it had a little too much dramatic events for me. I enjoyed it, but I liked other books by this author better. Challenge complete
I just finished The Ladies of the Secret Circus. It’s a pretty good story but I feel the writing was very jumping.
Challenge Complete!Book: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Author:Betty Smith
Key word: Tree
I wasn't sure I'd liked this, but I did and I can't really explain why. I did enjoy watching the girl grow up over the length of the book. It definitely gives you perspective on poverty in the early 1900s for a family in the city. Sorry I can't give a better review. Despite the length, I think it's worth reading.

So far so good, lots of characters to keep track of though. Haven't gotten completely to the bottom of the backstory so far, but being fed it bit by bit. Will let you know when I finish!
Challenge completeTitle: You
Author: Caroline Kepnes
Dark and twisted story of a psychopathic stalker who is the narrator. His perspective gives the novel a most unsettleing atmosphere, especially since the reader is not quite sure how "innocent" his victim is because his point of view skews what we assume about everything. A compelling, but difficult one to read.
Challenge Complete! Word - One
Book - Trust No One by Debra Webb
A good twisty thriller, new to this author.

Challenge completed: SecretThe Secret Staircase Sheila Connolly 8/21/21
This book was bittersweet since it was not only the last in this short series but the last book published for Sheila Connolly who passed last year. I was happy with the closure the storyline and characters got.
okay, this month I was able to read two books: tree and blue1) Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts
I was expected something else. Ms Roberts is a very prolific writer and I read a lot of great things about her, but I had a lot of time loving this book. I almost DNF it. But the last 75 pages were good. This book is basically about a arson specialist and a person from her past that is burning buildings and most of them with people inside.
My second choice was tree and I read Family Tree by Susan Wiggs. And I was disappointed also. All I remember is that the family business that is a maple tree farm... and that's all. Is not bad, just not memorable.
Challenge Complete!
