SOLVED. Fiction: Novel about man going through psychoanalysis in early 1900’s

This novel takes place in the early 1900’s where the main character is undergoing psychoanalysis and the story follows his sessions with his therapist where they discuss his dreams. At one point in the move he begins to fall in love with the therapist. That’s all I can remember!

When you say early 1900s, do you mean pre-1920, or more like pre-1950?
