not a recommendation but reading this made me realize something; i’ve read hundreds of YA and middle grades but i’ve encountered less than 20 indian characters. we need more desi rep, lol
lol plus for some of the stories that are set in the 21st century, some of the indian characters have such old school names like Ravi and Parvati imao....smh....these are the names that our grandparents or parents would have
ooh i would recommend hani and ishu's guide to fake-dating; i havent read but it sounds pretty good. (roshani and sandhya are amazing btw; roshani writes abt indian mythology and sandhya writes indian-american modern characters).

I have read most of Roshani Chokshi and Sandhya Menon
I also have read middle-grade books ( ages 8-12 ) by Sayantani DasGupta, Gita Varadarajan and Sarah Weeks
