INDIE AUTHOR HELP! Where to put book on for global distribution

Hi! So I am an indie author about to publish my debut novel. I currently am using KDPs self-publishing company, but then I was looking into other companies that sell to other big name companies (barns and nobles, target, etc) and I was using Ingram Spark, but it's very confusing. So if someone could help me understand why they won't accept my files or any other company that does the same thing and is easier, that would be great! Thank you :)
