This August, let's rely on our Zodiacs for reading and completing the challenge!
Do you think your Zodiac sign makes you lucky when it comes to reading? Find out by participating in this challenge!

Challenge Runtime: 1st August-31st August'21
Type: Teams

About the Challenge:-

1. There will be four teams, based on the elements Zodiac signs belong to:-

Team Air- Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Team Water- Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio
Team Earth-Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Team Fire- Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

2. Each participant will be put in a team according to the zodiac they select. We would ask you to select your own zodiac sign, to enjoy this challenge more, instead of choosing according to the prompts, but it's your choice.

3. Each participant will have two category of tasks to complete: Individual and Team Tasks.
4. Individual tasks are to be completed alone. These can't be buddy read for extra points. (Can only be Buddy read for Inter-Teams Pairing, check below)
5. Team Tasks can be buddy read for extra points.
6. Team Tasks are classified as Easy and Hard.
7. Inter-Teams Buddy Reading: Below is the list of most compatible zodiac signs for friendships:-

Aries and Libra
Taurus and Sagittarius
Gemini and Capricorn
Cancer and Aquarius
Leo and Pisces
Virgo and Scorpio


The participants can choose to buddy read by choosing their most compatible zodiac partner according to the above list. This will earn both the participants, individual extra points. Please note that the individual prompts can be used only for inter-team readings.
This is only for fun and to make the challenge more interesting, please don't take this list to heart. Zodiac pairings are NOT always correct.

Rules:-

1. Each member of a team will have to complete at least 2 individual prompts to qualify.
2. Each team as a whole will have to complete 3 unique team tasks at least, to qualify.
3. Each book read must be at least 150 pages to count.
4. A review must be a paragraph to count for scores.
5. One book qualifies only for one prompt but one prompt can be used for more than one book. Each Team Task can only be completed thrice and not more. No such compulsion for individual tasks.
6. Each participant must check into their teams by 5th August failing which, they will be given one warning. If they still don’t check in, they’ll be replaced.
7. The team can request for a team member replacement in case they don't contribute to team points.

Special Rule Regarding Webtoons/Manga/Graphic Novels: The said book must be found in GR Database with complete information about author, page count, cover, etc. If any of these is missing, it won't count in the challenge for ANY reason. Kindly do not message us the links where a page count can be found, if the data isn't complete on GR, it won't be counted.

Special Rule Regarding Book Cover: In the prompts listing a book color, the said color is to be found in the background, for example:-

There are many colors in this cover, red, blue, purple, white, brown but Yellow is the background color. So, the color of the book will be Yellow.

In case of colorful covers: In case of covers with many colors constituting background, such as:
The background color, will be the one with highest percentage, which will be confirmed using this site: https://labs.tineye.com/color/6ea0ee4...

Scoring:-

1. Each individual prompt completed by a member will earn 3 points to the team.
2. An easy team task completed by team will earn 4 points to the team, a hard task will score 6 points to the team. Buddy reading and extra review points will also be added.

Extra Scoring:-

-AUGUST BOTM: Each book read by a participant will give 8 points to the team. Additionally, the participant should also participate in BOTM discussion. Please note that it's your choice to log the book under, BOTM, for extra scores or to log it under a prompt, if you log it as BOTM, it won’t be counted under any prompt.

-Buddy Read for Team Task: 3 points
-Inter-Teams Buddy Reading for Individual Task: 5 points
-Review: 2 Points
Page Count Scoring: For every book above 300 pages-
301-400: 2 points
401-500: 3 points
501-600: 4 points
601-700: 5 points
701 and above: 7 points.

Scoring Break-Down:-
For Individual Task: Prompt points(3)+ Review points(2)(if applicable)+Page Count points+ Inter-Teams Buddy Reading(5)(if applicable)
For Team Task: Prompt completion points(Easy:4, Hard:6)+ Review points(number of reviews*2)+ Page Count Points + Buddy Reading points(3)

Team Leader
There will be at least 1 team leader for a team, 2 if possible. Their duties include:
1. Make sure each entry made by team members and the corresponding points are correct.
2. Ensure that each member follows rules of the challenge.
3. If a member is absent in the team/not contributing to the team you can contact them/inform Mods.
4. Keep a track of total team points.
5. Encourage team members to complete team tasks and read if they aren't.
6. Making sure team members are staying active throughout the challenge.
7. The Mods might allot a spreadsheet which must me maintained dutifully by the leader.

Additional Info

1. Each Zodiac sign has some lucky numbers associated with it. So, each sign will be having 2 lucky numbers. If the participant completes a book on the date of their lucky number, they'll get 2 points extra for being lucky!

Nah nothing special.. it was something I prepared for my blog. I used to write and read on Wattpad a lot and then I just put a stop at that. There are still many stories there I wanted to read but never got to.. there are so many books in the world I am always distracted with one thing or other so I wanted to take a month off and focus on reading some stuff on Wattpad, rank them a bit.. and you know, there's generally a lot I could generate for blog post ideas. But with you pulling out such gems from your pocket..👁️👄👁️☠️

I think it means that the number of pages the book you read has, it has to have a 3 in it.
